Right, but you said he’s acting excited because of the extension.
There is no extension. At least not yet. That’s an old article that literally says nothing about the state of said extension.
I’m sure the sides have been talking, and at the time of the trade there was discussion about willingness of both parties.
However, there has been no new chirping about contract progress and no sign that one gets done. There’s still a very real chance he plays 2018 out on a tag.
