2019 Browns Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep - the Ravens are everything we wished we were.

Reality bites, and the truth hurts.

I fucking hate having to eat that shit sandwich.

It's disgusting.
The only sort of fanbase that deserves this sort of...bad ineptness is for one that is non existant, like the LA Chargers or Jacksonville Jaguars.

I've been trying to legit...find out what this team/city did wrong to get this shit inflicted on them.

Mistake is Dorsey.

Trying to go all in with a 2nd year QB on his 3rd head coach in 24 games and a rookie HC with barely any experience at all.

Needed to let this team grow and mature.

People expect way too much out of Baker for his 2nd year. And building on offense from the outside in is a mistake.

My hope is...Mayfield rides this out and doesn't let this disrupt his growth.

At the time? It really did feel like these were good moves. Had the coach been discplined and ran schemes that were friendly towards Mayfield's strengths? We're having a different discussion about now.

That wasn't the case.

This is controversial to say, but imagine him on the Ravens with a guy like Harbaugh? No doubt in my mind we'd be here bitching about how he'd be lighting things up.

My rant:

This is absolutely absurd. If there was any possible way to make life even crueler for the fans of a team that went through 1-31, it is to build them up, give them hope, get them and the nation excited about a possible Super Bowl team and fucking smash them in the nuts with a flaming sledgehammer and then sow salt, lemon juice and fire ants on their ruptured sacs.

What have any of us ever done to deserve this? Were we all Nazis in a past life to merit this karma?

What are the odds that everything would go wrong? How could the guy that unleashed Baker Mayfield last year with an offense designed around his strengths, forget everything??!! How?

How can a team with a running back that is the incarnation of Jim Brown himself fail to utilize him properly?

How can a team with Pro-Bowlers all over the offense score fewer points than the Dolphins on a regular basis?

How can the best rookie QB in NFL history* regress so far as to become the second coming of a less talented young Vinny Testaverde?

What is happening? Oh my GOD IT BURNS!!!! THE ANTS! MY SAC!!!!

Forced to pick between Freddie Kitchens, Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh, Mike McCarthy, who you take? Lol

Can someone tell me the last college coach with no NFL experience to jump to the NFL and have any amount of success?

I can't think of one in the last.... 20 years??

Those of us old heads laughed at SB talk. After game 1 we could see Freddie was a mistake. I would have pulled the plug at the bye, but smartest guy in the room Dorseradish thought that by hiring a southern Forest Gump hick and wearing custom made 70s Cleveland Browns sweatshirts that we wouldn’t have to play the games.

Bottom line....Jimmy and Dee are grifters, Dorsey is a megalomaniac, Freddie is a fat brain dead slob, and the midget flag-planting QB is a loudmouth, league worst starter.

This team sucks. Too many hicks. Too many southerners. GTFO

I wouldn't mind Urban Meyer but he needs the right OC to mesh with him and challenge him. I don't doubt he would be a fine HC, it's the staff that he could put around himself is more what I question. His health is a huge question mark too. The fact that every week isn't must win the NFL might be better for his health.

I also don't know if Baker is the right QB for him.

Not really any Recently, Harbaugh was successful, Jimmy Johnson, and Tom Coughlin only real ones coming to mind.

He played 14 years in the NFL........

I overlooked your no experienced part. Chip Kelly wasn't decent his first two years at 10-6 each year. The problem came when he got control of picking the players in Philly then with the 49ers.

That's my point. I'm an OU, love Riley to death but as much as everyone talks about hiring him. I just don't see it. Going back 30 years and we have 3 examples of success?

Pretty sure Urban is even on record saying he really isnt interest in NFL gig, just always though he could be successful..I always thought of Urban as a guy that quickly turns things around and builds the culture , great talent evaluator/recruiter, and someone that conforms his system and play style to fit his qb and teams strength. Rather it be Chris Leak or Tebow or JT Barrett to Cardale etc.
