2019 Browns Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m most disappointed in Kitchens. Talk is cheap. There are still 9-10 winnable games. But this was a winnable game until the implosion after the 3Q TD.

Maybe less commercials, SI Covers and “We’re here” articles until you make the playoffs guys. Sample size of one, but Week 2 is a must win or the playoff dreams are gonna be in serious jeopardy.

I think it is important to point out the second paragraph has little to do with Kitchens and more to do with player leadership getting a little ahead of themselves. This is a professional sport, and endorsement contracts drive a lot of what you cited as problematic, not the head coach.

Coaches did make their own mistakes, especially getting rid of the shorter passes and protection schemes that worked so well last season... but let's stay in the right lane for some of this blame.

Big questions going into the Jets game:

How left tackle shakes out: Is Robinson suspended and is Lamm on the shelf.

How do defensive coaches correct the mistakes at the line of scrimmage that dug a huge hole, and how to tighten up help defense from the players in zone.

How will Baker look at errors he made, first by hanging onto the ball too long and then by playing hero ball in the fourth quarter.

I mean yes, I am trying not to be too hard on Freddie. It's just the 18 penalties (really 20 but two were declined) makes you wonder what the heck is going on. Again...giving them a mulligan for this one but still frustrated.

I'd give it several more weeks before evaluating whether the Zeitler for Vernon trade was a good one
It's more like in a couple of weeks we decide if we would rather have Zeitler and Ogbah or Vernon and Murray.

Robinson will start, league not suspending him, but they will further fine him.

Well....
You have two options at this point, the more I sleep on it.

Either you can either punt another 1st, and a few other picks to land Trent William to try to band aid this offensive line up. Nothing in life is guaranteed but at the very least? You can at least keep Baker from getting hit like Timmy back in the day.

Or...
You can stay the course. This team might very well develop better schemes, win some games and overall be a playoff team. BUT? The risk is significantly greater. Could very well be between a 6-10, to 8-8 team if that is not done.

Going back to the 2014-cavs example? I think it might be worth it. I am not saying this from the POV of "panic" but rather of protecting the investment you have in general. Your goal is to keep a potetially volatile mix happy and growing.

This is not a panic move because your conference is either going to New England or Kansas City at this very point. (with perhaps Baltimore nudging themselves into the convo). Rather it's to ensure that this thing you have right now doesn't go south and we can continue to creak the window open.

Well, glad yesterday was only the 1st game of the preseason. Got some film of what needs fixed (75% of everything) and what works (the rest of the75%, so 9-7%)

Yesterday was like the cool new guy (that was us) showing up to work thinking he's all that. And the older guy that has been busting his hump for years (the other team), punched us right in the mouth and took our lunch money. Either our players suck it up or they can run and ask their mommies for help.

Either way, I'm still upset over not winning the lottery this weekend.

man.

fuck the titans.

I personally wouldn’t pour beer on a player, but yeah I have no sympathy for a guy jumping into the opposing team’s stands getting a little splash.

Chalking this one up to Logan Ryan being a whiny bitch.

Is that the story? I honestly don’t want to waste any effort listening or researching.

I don’t think fans should be pouring drinks on players who are within the field of play.....

But if you are going in to the stands, I mean, it’s kind of all bets are off. I think people shouldn’t be doing it but expecting you won’t get water or anything else dumped on you, if you are purposely trying to incite a reaction from opposing fans, I don’t feel any sympathy for you.

At least the Jets look awful and their best player might not play.

Unlike the Titans, the Jets have no culture of imposing their will and have a shitty coordinators/systems.

If they get their heads on straight then the Browns should crush them.
