2019 Browns Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
FYI - penalties have been a problem all preseason. This is a discipline issue.

Denzel was so fucking bad yesterday too.

Not sure if it was a scheme thing or what

Felt the offense was more of monken offense from Tampa bay than Freddie's from last year. The lack of running early on was really frustrating, especially since the offense wasn't exactly clicking. Need better discipline and some adjustments and hopefully the jet's game isn't a total shit show.

My biggest rant rewatching the condensed game this AM is our obvious protection adjustment was always lining up with a TE but using him to chip in the protection game. Then using our slot to man the vacated routes from the TE being stuck in pass pro. I think if we make that adjustment, we honestly win......and we did that approximately zero times.

Our WR's were winning at all levels, on a majority of snaps.... but Baker was getting pushed out of the pocket too quickly......wether that was him having to vacate entirely and freelance or that the pocket not holding forced him to reset his feet, at the time he should have been releasing the ball, causing throws to come out late or just out of rhythm.

Coaching staff adjustment is the big red flag coming out of week 1 for me. I think they generally did a miserable job changing anything based on personnel, game flow, time / score, etc. The presser made that point more worrisome for me. Freddie just seems like a really stubborn coach.......which only works if you're Bill Belichick. Just lots of blinding pride on this team....I hope getting their noses rubbed in the dirt refocuses and humbles everyone.

1) The offensive line is horrible, and we need to scheme and call plays with that in mind. The 2nd half of last season we did, and we were successful. It is a salvageable, albeit not ideal, situation until we are able to shore up OL.

2) The defense played poorly and was put in some unenviable situations. With our defensive line, we have to expect teams to utilize screens against us to combat the pass rush.

3) Penalties. This has been best to death so I won’t expound. Clean it up.

Yesterday’s game basically boils down to these 3 main themes in my mind. And all 3 should be correctable within the week with the proper focus level. Need to see marked improvement starting next Monday.

FYI, Baker had the 9th most amount of time to throw in week 1 (so far).

So...outside of Hubbard, maybe being too hard on the offensive line and not so much on Baker having to hold the ball for long conversions? And....you know, Baker might also take his fair share of blame for just holding onto the ball too long.

If these guys want any sort of motivation at all they should just check the comments in any instagram post involving them this morning. I'm sure they all have. They're getting absolutely destroyed, especially Baker obviously. They'll all say they don't see/care about any of the outside noise, and that if you're not in that building you don't matter etc. but these guys see all of this shit. They're young, they live in social media. If there's one thing nfl fans can't get enough of, it's ripping on the Brownies. Hoping they can use it as motivation.

I’m still fucking pissed. At everything.
Penalties, kicking, coaching, hype, talk, injuries, lack of practice, 300k watches, Tom fucking Brady, Antonio Brown, Popeyes sandwiches, Apple credit cards, Hurricane Dorian. Every goddamn thing.

I haven't read any posts in this thread. I'm simply sticking my fingers in my ears, humming loudly to myself, and blocking out mentally everything about the Browns until Monday night's kickoff.

Someone made the point that we had a lot of bad down and distance due to the penalties, so had to have longer developing routes. Clean up the penalties and should beat the Jets.

It’s scheme.

We drafted people who excel in man, and Steve loves him some soft ass zone.

That double team block rule on kickoffs and some of those bang bang defensive holding plays just cannot be penalties.

Announcers are getting frustrated with those. Romo wouldnt even talk about them.

They sucked so bad it's hard to put into words. An absolute disaster.
Baker looked tiny out there, at least yesterday.
Freddie may not be the guy sad to say.
