2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You really want to be cheap as fuck on this offensive line don’t you?

Sorry, but cheating out on the o line is not a way to build a strong front end unit that will protect our young QB.

If we were looking at trading for Zeitler you’d say “his cap hit is too big”

News flash, of you want to protect our QB we’re going to have to pay some fucking money to offensive lineman.

Even those who aren't good.

Because that's how you build a winner.

Logic.

What's with the hostility here?

I wouldn't say Zeitler's cap hit is too big because he's good. Solder isn't.

NEWS FLASH: Solder fucking sucks dude.

Do an ounce of research before getting snippy with me. He's older than Trent Williams, he has $20m cap hits in the next 2 seasons, and he's Top 5 in the league in sacks allowed. Let's trade for that guy!

Perhaps he watched training camp tape...would explain why Jones has the yips sometimes.

Is he better than Robinson? Yes.

Does he at all effect our cap space to re-sign our key players? No.

What in the world makes you think Solder IS THAT BAD outside of the PFF grade you looked at.

He’s a sizable upgrade over Robinson and a solid short term plug and play guy to improve the roster.

  • The number of sacks and pressures attributed to him this year
  • Being bad in 2018 too
  • Poster child of OL who leave Scarnecchia
  • The team with a rookie QB looking to move his blindside
  • Every single Giant fan wanting him gone
What makes you think he's good? Giving up a pick and taking on that contract for his play is such a drastic, unnecessary overcorrection. Good teams don't take on $20m/yr, mediocre players as "short term plug & play" guys.

At least if the Browns were to trade/overpay for Trent Williams, I could look past the detractors (age/money/injuries/etc) and hang my hat on the fact that he's one of the best in the league

When your o-line is as atrocious as ours you do.

Any way we can improve our offensive line im behind it.

Calling a guy too much money that could be cut for minimal cap hit next season is ridiculous when he can help us this season. Especially when NY would be paying some of that cap hit.

Please lay out some substance as to how acquiring this player would be a legitimate improvement for the Browns' offensive line.

I don't give a fuck about a minimal cap hit, but why would I trade any sort of draft compensation for a guy, who, by all possible measures, has been total dog shit this season?

The point is that he is worse than Robinson and costs more, regardless of the cap hit for NY.

He's a bad player who isn't an improvement who will cost them some money that he isn't worth.

Because he is CONSIDERABLY better than Robinson.

Robinsons penalty yardage alone has cost us on so many occasions where as Solder will at least be able to stand up with some semblance of technique.

Id love to add him to our roster for this season for a mid round pick. This offensive line is our biggest issue right now.

Feels like a major reach to me. The whole "our o-line is garbage" debate doesn't hold as much water as we hope when you look at the stats.

I was behind Trent Williams because he is good and if part of Baker's inconsistency is because he doesn't trust Robinson, which is causing some yips, acquiring Williams would likely solve that but I am not trying to swap out a garbage player for a slightly less garbage player. That isn't going to solve any of our offensive woes.

You have lost it.

Greg Robinson has committed 5 penalties for 55 yards.

Nate Solder has committed 3 penalties for 30 yards.

Stop.

Edit: It's actually 4 penalties, so who knows where it's at now.

Additionally: Greg Robinson has allowed 1 sack, Nate Solder has allowed 5.

and another holding penalty that got wiped out against the Rams..

so really 65 yards.

All of which have put us in some really god awful situations.

Again, based on what?

The amount of pressures and sacks attributed to him doesn't say that at all.

You brought up penalties. Robinson has committed 2 more penalties than Solder for a total of 20 more yards. How is that a big difference and worth giving up a "mid round pick" for?
