2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My observations from watching red zone highlights of last year vs this year:
  • Bakers accuracy was really on point, which is something he's struggled with this year. Obviously I am only looking at TD highlights, but a lot of really, really nicely thrown balls.
  • Duke, while I do the trade for a 3rd every day of the week (especially since he was unhappy) was a pretty nice weapon that we were lacking while Hunt was out. Duke makes quite a few plays or draws attention in the first few games below.
  • The offensive line play is much worse this year. Baker has lots of time on these plays. It seems like teams are consistently breaking down the pocket this year without bringing any extra rushers

Here are links to all of Baker's red zone TD passes. Didn't include any Chubb runs or pass TDs longer than 20 yards

Week 9- vs Chiefs
5:27- Screen to Duke. Duke breaks a key tackle, Callaway with nice downfield block
8:15- Browns have an advantage here as they are so spread out & Chiefs bring 7.

Week 10- vs Falcons
4:36- Slip screen to Chubb. Misdirection with Callaway draws away a safety and linebacker
6:01- Duke open in the middle

Week 12 @ Bengals
1:50- Perfectly placed ball to Callaway while on the run
2:48- Screen to Njoku. Lucky to score, pretty crazy sequence of events
3:58- Outrageous catch by Chubb on the wheel route
5:42- Baker has lots of time, able to find Fells open in back of endzone

Week 13 @ Texans
34:20- Perfectly placed ball to Higgins in corner

Week 15 @ Broncos
8:58- Slant to Callaway. Duke's presence draws away LB/S

Week 16 vs. Bengals
10:14- Jump ball to Njoku (banner shows up that Browns are 15/16 for TDs since coach change)
12:50- Slow developing play. Risky throw, but Baker places it where only Fells can catch it
21:33- Slant to Higgins, lots of after the catch yardage

Week 17 @ Ravens

11:02- Jump ball to Njoku

Let's also not forget missing Njoku who, for all of his flaws, is a major weapon in the red zone.

Agreed. Their major struggles with him out have made it apparent to me that the mismatches he causes create a lot of redzone scoring opportunities that aren't there without him.

Twitter rumors are saying 5 games for Garrett. We shall see.

5 is so random considering there is 6 games left. Its either 4, 6, 6+ playoffs.

I still have a hunch its only 4.

just sign Eric berry FFS. He gets hurt he gets hurt. Bigger upside with him than what we got.

Eric Berry cannot play anymore. His food needs constant rest and he can only play a few snaps a game anymore.

*also I think Hassell can be, at the very least, a quality special teams player.*

Just read somewhere that K'Waun Williams is having a good year. Didnt realize he was still in the league.
