Just read somewhere that K'Waun Williams is having a good year. Didnt realize he was still in the league.

He had an injured season after leaving the Browns, but he is a big part of that vastly improved Niners defense. It all starts with their dominant defensive line, then K'Waun is in his prime as a slot guy.

In the age of information when you can learn so much about how offensive dynamics work, to still be that bad at it seems like a choice.

Conspiracy theory:

NFL knew this looked bad because it was on a nationally televised game. So they were forced to make it look like they are taking it seriously and gave him a suspension that was a) illegal by the CBA and b) harsh compared to similar incidents.

They wait till everyone cools down. The suspension gets reduced, and they announce the reduced suspension during a Friday news dump, so a large chunk of the people who were calling for a lifetime ban or similar outrageous penalty either don't notice it was reduced or have already forgotten.

We have one of the best red zone threats in the league the past 5 seasons and he has one touchdown over 10 games and 0 in the red zone yet we think getting back a guy who has scored at max 4 TDs in an entire 16 game season all of a sudden makes us that much better in the red zone.
