2019 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ohio State would beat every non-Clemson ACC team by at least 40 points.

Oof. That loss hurts the Big Ten as a whole, especially if you’re trying to make the case that they have multiple CFP teams.

Yeah, that would only work if the only loss between Wiscy and us was to each other.

Now Wisconsin is a must win, can't bank on meeting them again in the B1G Championship. Fucking crazy loss for them. Ultimately I wanted to beat them undefeated obviously. Penn State doesn't look strong enough to carry the mantle for the conference, so we're pretty much the only hope.

Rooting for undefeated Minnesota to somehow meet us at the end of the season.

Based on finishing behind Georgia last year, a 1 loss OSU isn’t getting in ahead of any 1 loss sec team. We needed to go undefeated anyways. Wisconsin losing only potentially hurts our seeding.

Now we have to hope Ped State runs the table until they face us.

Buckeyes Remaining Schedule:
10/26 - Home vs. #12-16 Wisconsin (6-1)
- Assuming Wisky will be ranked somewhere in the mid-teens for next week. That Illinois loss is bad.
11/9 - Home vs. Maryland (3-3)
- Maryland is currently losing to Indiana, and also has to play @ Minnesota and vs. Michigan before playing us. Pretty solid chance they could be 3-6 when they play us.
11/16 - Away vs. Rutgers (1-5)
- Rutgers is currently losing to Minnesota, so they'll be 1-6. Then they play versus Liberty (???) and @ Illinois who just messed up Wisconsin. Maybe they beat Liberty? I know nothing about them, but Rutgers is probably going to be a 2-7 team at best when we play them.
11/23 - Home vs. #7 Penn State (6-0)
- Penn State has some rough games coming up before playing us, and they just came off a win at Iowa. They've got Michigan tonight, then they're at Michigan State, then at #20 Minnesota before coming to Columbus. If they run the table on this, they very likely will be a top-5 team by late November, which would make this huge. Harbaugh will probably screw us tonight though and knock them off.
11/30 - Away @ #16 Michigan (5-1)
- Away games at Michigan are never, ever a sure thing, even with how off they've looked this year. I think Penn State beats them tonight, which would make them a two loss team. Then they've got another tough game next week at home versus Notre Dame, before playing @ Maryland, vs. Michigan State, and vs. Indiana.

I think best case scenario for the Buckeyes to have the best looking wins possible is:
- Penn State beats Michigan tonight and then runs the table against MSU and Minnesota, likely setting up a top-5 matchup at The Shoe in late November.
- Michigan somehow beats Notre Dame and also runs the table until playing us. A two loss Michigan with a win over Notre Dame will likely be ranked top-15 in late November.
- The Maryland and Rutgers games aren't going to look good, so just win those by as much as you can.
- Minnesota has a tough schedule the rest of the way (Maryland, Iowa, Penn State, Northwestern, Wisconsin). I know they're undefeated, but they're really not that great of a team. I think they lose to Iowa, PSU, and Wisky, so we'd most likely face off against either Wisconsin or Iowa in the B1G Championship.

Honestly, before Wisconsin lost this week, I figured we could afford a loss to them as long as we won out the rest of the way and beat them in the B1G Championship rematch. Now, I don't think we can lose at all if we want to get into the playoff.

Just gotta keep winning. An undefeated OSU will never, ever, ever get left out of the CFP.

Dammit Wisky. That sucks.

Hope Ped State destroys Michigan tonight.

Is it me or does James Franklin come across as a general douche. Walking out of the tunnel like a bad ass. Just seems like one of those fake tough guys.

Not much has changed. We need to win every game. Expecting to get in with one loss was always fool’s gold.

Having Safeties guard Hamler 1 on 1 is arrogant and stupid
