2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Porter spends more time complaining about the refs than Drummond. He quits and ends up
behind plays repeatedly. Watched a recent game when
the Rockets were blown out by the Suns and Porter was shown joking it up on the bench multiple
times down the stretch.

He doesn't have the game to come anywhere close to overcoming the negatives of
his body language.

Not only that, but check out his numbers-

4th in turnovers per game, 36% FG, PER of 8.57? Yikes

Yeah I don't miss KPJ

But could you imagine Stephen Silas being your head coach ?

Skillset would have been a perfect fit at the SG, but the personality wasnt there. Still pulling for the kid.

What makes you say this? He can't shoot, needs the ball, and turns it over as much as anyone in the league.

We're seeing Garland's best basketball now that the offense is running through him on every possession.

He is currently a PG because Houston needs him to be one. He's a solid playmaker, but not a PG. He would fit along side Garland as Rubio does. Obviously not as skilled or creative, but he could operate under similar usage just fine.

Nah, that was really cool to see. KPJ wasn't chasing the stat; his teammates simply went out of their way to give it to him.
I mean, he literally is chasing the ball :)
But I do agree, cool move by his teammates.

He had 11 pts, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Just barely a triple double. Its akin to saying I hooked up last night, but it was just the tip.

Channeling Ricky Davis, sort of…

Seems rather lame to have your first career triple double be one your teammates gifted to you. Especially when your statline is a rather unimpressive 11/10/11. It's like your very first triple-double comes with a "lame" asterisk.

Not saying anything about KPJ, because it wasn't his fault that his teammates did that. Just seems...lame.

If you had a lineup of Allen, Mobley, Lauri, KPJ, and Garland, exactly where would KPJ fit in terms of offensive options? You wouldn't want to lose Allen's efficiency, and you have to feed Mobley to develop him. Garland is going to be the PG, and he and Lauri are both better outside shooters than is KPJ.

Not sure how KPJ would respond to being the 5th option.

Ergh... Mobley wouldn't have been a Cavalier had Porter been on the team.

Like this is the easiest shit for me to overcome because I know that Mobley > Porter+Green
I don't have a problem overcoming it because Porter has been bad for the Rockets. Like, very bad.

Yeah, but it may change... or not. But if it does, it's not gonna matter to me in the slightest...fir that reason.
