2019 Draft, Pick #30 - Kevin Porter Jr., USC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Coby White starting to figure things out last 3 games 35/7/3 (thunder) 33/6/2(Wizards) 33/3/2 (Suns)

Coby White has been on a hot 3 pt shooting run. He was shooting 33% from 3 before those 3 games and in those 3 games he is shooting 58%. 18 of the 116 made 3s from this season came from the last 3 games.

Who is the better Porter Jr, Michael or Kevin lol.

"Porter bounced back emphatically, delivering the kind of performance that has some within the team believing that he might be the one. The one to become the team’s best player at some point. The one to alter the franchise’s trajectory.

“There’s no might,” a player told cleveland.com before leaving the locker room." - Chris Fedor, after the win over Miami

In recent news: In surprising turn of events Warner Bros studios fire Keaanu Reeves and hire Kevin Porter Jr for the upcoming Matrix movie. God damn

He’s just so fun to watch especially in these highlights once he starts gaining confidence in game it’s so easy to see how much potential he has. It really is crazy how he fell to 30 in the draft.

I read that the Matrix is older now than Tron was when the Matrix came out and that blew my mind.

The guy I wanted in the draft over Garland. Knew he would be the better player. Bigger, faster, better shooter, actually played in college, and not just workout warrior.
I don't think White is "figuring it out" as much as he's just a streaky player on a hot streak. If Cavs fans have problems with Sexton's court vision and BBIQ deficiencies, I don't think they would take too kindly to White––in many ways, a poor man's Sexton who looks destined to be a career bench player regardless of his recent play.

MPJ has better size and has more skill. KPJ is a better athlete and isn't a 21 year old with a bad back. I would take KPJ over MPJ. MPJ may end up with a better peak but KPJ will be at his peak longer then MPJ.

You definitely have to worry about that back. KPJ is the better passer and ballhandler. Obviously MPJ is a better shooter and might be elite. He is significantly older.

I'll be interested in seeing how that shakes out. KPJ's vision makes me cautiously optimistic he can be a playmaking wing. I also love his shot profile right now. At the rim, 3 or pass. Every young player should try to play that way.

Right off the bat, why is drafting a generational player only used as a negative for the Cavs?

If golden state didn't draft the generational player Steph curry would they have THEIR championships?
what if the bulls didn't draft Jordan? In fact, besides Detroit, how many teams have won a championship without a superstar?
The question should be could the owners of teams in large markets have the same success in a small market?

Porter jr had a great first half. Played good d all game.

Passing was sick. Zizic is really big, can finish, and can really screen. Kevin Porter could score every time or Zizic could finish.

Advocating pairing those 2 offensively. It was cool

The kid has an unbelievably high ceiling. It’s the highest since we drafted Kyrie, and given his position, may even be higher.

As always, my issues are defense, pass efficiency, and most importantly, consistency. He’s so young and I think the consistency will come in the next few years. I just hope that is consistently at-or-close-to his ceiling.

This is a 20 ppg scorer at some point within the next 2-3 years. His FT game needs work obviously. No team will make you their franchise player at SG if you can’t hit FTs.

He’s got the tools to be a superstar tho. I don’t like his jumper but he makes enough of them. I also LOVE his ability to run PG and he can dribble himself into any place on the court. That’s a skill few NBA players have and most that have it are point guards so even when they get there they can’t take advantage of it. At Porters height he could be a really good scorer/defender.

I wanna see what his “man” body looks like before I compare him to Iggy. But I see an Andre Iggy type player if he adds on muscle mass

also idk what point were trying to prove with Garland but KPJ should be starting at the 2. If you are seriously that afraid of Sexton at PG then Osman and KPJ can share duties bringing the ball up. Garland has not earned a starting spot imo. With Delly able to run backup PG I’m beginning to wonder why we picked Garland.
