The Cavs have all of these young talented players. The question is will they put their egos aside and play as a team. At appears one of the small guards, Sexton or Garland is going to have to come in off the bench, if Porter Jr, starts.
With Windler and Wade in waiting, they may not need too much to be a competive team.
The big question to me is whether the defense is real. If they can actually play defense like this, then they can be a playoff team in the bad east next year. If they can't and they continue to be in the bottom 5 defensively, they will struggle.
Really the offense hasn't been that bad all year. It is just that they can't stop the other team. What we have seen the last few games is the defense feeding the offense, and it makes them look way better offensively. They were capable of that before, but they weren't getting the buckets they are now getting off stops.
It just looks like every young guy was being held back by Beilein in that they could do more. It looks like he didn't have the buy in of the vets, and now they they have bought in for bickerstaff, they are able to compete.
I'd love someone who is familiar with NBA defenses to break down what is going on because the defense is night and day, and the 3 guys that really struggled on D Porter, Darius, and Sexton are actually making an impact now and the vets are helping them.
As far as Windler goes. If he can play like he did in summer league and put up a bunch of 3's really quick, it will change the dynamic of this team. They really need that sort of spacer right now, and it would greatly help Darius break down the d, and Sexton would get to go wherever he wanted, Porter too. I keep thinking of a Porter, Windler, Cedi rotation. Big and long
