Culver has played point guard most of the time with the wolves. He was not the "sexy" pick but he defends 3 positions, can physically compete right now in the NBA, and probably a better fit with Sexton.

Darius might be the better pick in the long run IF he works hard and develops his game and body, but right now he's physically overwhelmed. It might take him 2 years just to catch up physically, that is if he has the same work ethic as sexton.

Giving up Culver as an example of someone we should have drafted instead of Garland is...interesting.

Defense would be better.

So what? He is not an example of a successful pick...yet. He hasn't been good to say the least and he had two full seasons in college.
The best course of action is just to wait and observe, and not compare Garland to other struggling prospects of this draft or to prospects that were not even projected to go in the top 10. All high lottery picks outside of Zion and Morant(Zion is a sure thing if he can stay healthy) have been disappointing,

Yeah this is shaping up to be a poor draft overall. I think Zion and Morant will be great but then your next best prospect looks to by Tyler Herro at 13: ouch
Good moves by NOP to trade down the Laker pick this year and pick up additional picks for next year

I'm not dismissing this draft as a whole is what i'm saying. Yes, it's extremely rare to see so many high lottery picks play so badly, but we should see how they all look in a few months or a year, especially Garland who has had the least amount of experience and came back from a meniscus surgery.

If neither of them is successful I take the guy who can play D and is 6'7".

I still like Darius, and I am willing to give them time. However, Culver is already part of all the best defensive lineups for the wolves. As of right now, he has a clearer path toward being a productive player.

There was a couple of articles on this and it basically had to due with a slump in Euroleague. He was consensus #1 but then had a couple of dud performances close to the draft process. Probably just related to playing a long season and being young in a man's league. This scared off teams.

This isn't really true...Real finished the season on a 25-2 run in games Doncic played, finishing their season with Euroleague and ACB league championships. He hit one of the most spectacular clutch shots I've ever seen to clinch the ACB championship just two days before the draft. Of course, he wasn't perfect in every single game, but overall he was the clear best player on arguably one of the best teams in European basketball history.

Which is why after Williamson and Morant, the Cavs need somebody with elite skills, not productive skills. You keep on taking Culvers, is the pathway to mediocre teams. Just think if Garland does develop into a elite shooter like Curry...........it opens so many doors. Yes, it may mean the process takes years and several coaches plus drafts to hit the right targets, but it is better than having no hope permanently.

Always draft for talent and higher ceiling, so if it wasn't Garland it should of been Rui.

Why do people like Rui? I would take Garland over Rui right now, and I don't even like Garland.

When I draft over in my head, I just can't think of who else I would have wanted is the real problem. I was seriously thinking about KPJ lol. Really more if we traded with the Hawks. I was very leery of Rui due to age and inexperience. Herro was not on the radar. I felt like I had more wants in the middle of the draft. I would have taken Langford where he went. I thought Culver to help Collin with Playmaking.

Who did you want with #5?
