2019 NFL Draft: Day 1 Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So I have paid little attention to draft prospects since the OBJ trade, so I have a few questions/comments for those who have been monitoring it closely:

1. What is the knock on Jawaan Taylor? A few months ago it seemed like he would be the first Tackle taken

2. What is the scouting report on Greg Little?

3. In the past few days it seemed like the Giants affinity to Daniel Jones being the worst kept secret. If they had taken Haskins at 6, would Daniel Jones still be on the board?

Surprised to see Byron Murphy and especially Greedy Williams on the board. I know Greedy is polarizing to scouts, but the upside is high

Loooots of quality DB's left in the draft. Still not sure how many of them will be left at 49, but if just one of CGJ, Adderley, Murphy, Greedy or Thornhill is available that's a fucking steal. Tremendous value, regardless of which one of those guys you end up with.

1. Taylor has had some knee issues, didn't do any athletic testing, and is more of a run blocker/RT than he is a LT.

2. EXTREMELY raw. All the physical tools, none of the technique. He's maybe a 3rd rounder.

3. IMO? He should be. But I'm sure there was another team who saw the Manning's QB coach QB and would have fallen in love. Daniel Jones had a 59 comp% for his career, and in general just hasn't been very accurate. Lock is better and I don't think much of Lock.

Murphy is very small, but isn't as fast or good as Denzel Ward. He'll probably go fast. Greedy Williams is VERY handsy and gets burned real too many times. Layne, IMO is the better prospect.

How much is Devin Bush gonna annoy us? Is it gonna be TJ Watts levels?

You think he will?? The only thing I remember watching Bush play, was how he used to disappear or get injured in big games. Maybe he will be a huge stud...but I'm not sure it was a wise investment for an off the ball linebacker.

Bush is a very good player. He's smaller Shazier, IMO.

But it was a serious bad idea to trade up. Steelers have so many holes and they need all the picks they can get.

Speed, speed, speed. The compensation though to move up is what makes that pick look bad. Not super worried about him as he can get overwhelmed by mauling blockers due to his size, on the flip side, he can occasionally sneak through the line due to being shorter

I never understood the 1st round hype on a lot of WRers in this draft.

Anyway, we can bag on the Giants rightfully having a terrible night, but the Raiders took the 5th best Edge, a bad running back and a strong safety in the 1st round. What a terrible misuse of assets. Gruden is going to get Mayock fired, and they both deserve it.
I was just about to post the same thing re: Raiders. Imagine the Browns having 3 first round picks and coming away with that haul. I'd be sick. I haven't paid as close attention to the draft as usual for obvious reasons, Abram may very well end up being worth the pick, but Jacobs and Ferrell taken where they were just seems inexcusable.

It's wonderful that we're finally getting to laugh at other organizations for their incompetence.

Also, kind of hilarious that the Redskins tried to trade up to get Haskins and then he just fell into their fucking lap with their original pick.

Clelin Ferrell at 4 is hella rich, and that's not just based on me picking him up at 16.

Actually... My 4th and 16th pick were swapped in the actual draft... huh.

Rock Ya-Sin is the guy I covet. I hope the presence of Williams and Murphy still being on the board insulate his falling to us at 49.

I read this and think "who the hell is this guy - never heard of him". I mean Rock Ya-Sin, not @thedarkness2332.

I go read some blurbs, then am about to post here about how he'd be a great pick. Then I realize that I still don't know jack shit about the guy except what I read in some other dude's write-up, which makes me spectacularly unqualified to have a worthwhile opinion.

So, uh...I really have nothing to contribute.

That is all.
