2019 NFL Draft: Day 2 Discussion

There is just so much talent left. I'm so happy that Dorsey didn't trade up into the 1st, there is going to be great talent at 49 and 80.
 
Risner wouldn’t be a bad get but the secondary really needs more talent.

Second round is good for high end OL and defensive backs.

Rounds 3-5 are great places to pick up off-ball linebackers who are good in coverage, and we could sure use one or two of those guys. Both as depth, and as potential starters down the road.

But I'm sure Dorsey is going to read the board, and look for BPA rather than being locked into a given position.

Ahhh Draft Week. Here’s my routine:

I start by talking about discipline, being level headed, Dorsey can find the diamonds in the rough.

This must have already happened bc I am clearly in phase II already: thinking about using all picks beyond the top 3 rounds to get as many picks inside of the top 3 rounds as possible. Like this year I want about 4 2nd rounders. Doesn’t matter that it isn’t possible, doesn’t matter that I don’t even know who I’d take, the important thing is that it’s what I want.

Draft day this year will be weird. The usual draft routine, especially after our top pick, is to be befuddled by who we took, especially in the later rounds, then talk myself into them bc they are on the team, and then just end with something like “Dorsey is awesome, this is his job, they must be awesome.”

Then I get worried that the Ravens/Steelers got someone “nasty” who is going to terrorize us forever.

Then I come to RCF for my opinion to be made for me, and this year, no matter who we get, I am going to be stoked for the season.

For me, this is playing out exactly as I expected, which means, we really have to trade up and get another round 2 pick! We could be looking at 2 hall of famers with how well Dorsey drafts!

What do we have to pair with Duke that isn’t pick 49 or 80 to get into pick 48 or lower?!?
 
We had DK in for a visit. Not advocating for it just sayin....

There will probably be a run on DB's but that's where the talent is. 10 of the next 25 picks will probably be defensive backs. That's enough talent where the browns can wait to see who falls.

If Dorsey trades up, my 10 minutes of analysis tells me it seem unlikely that he trade up higher than 43.

This mock draft is like a worst case scenario where the browns might want to move up, but even here the Browns get Juan Thornhill if they just wait.

All depending on if he views and graded all these players similarly... which is.... extraordinarily unlikely.

If he wants one bad he has to go get them.
 
Why not just squeeze Arizona right now? They put themselves into a position with no advantages what so ever, they have to move Rosen. Why even offer up a second rounder.
