2019 Series #21 | Indians vs. Yankees | June 7th, 8th, and 9th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Am I the only one who doesn't like the FS1 tv announcers compared to what we normally have?

Jose Ramirez's BABIP the last three season:
2016: .333
2017: .319
2018: .252
2019: .221

Compare that to batting averages as well, that number for 2019 is just bad. The other stats that are different the last two seasons, his GO/AO in 18 is 0.63 and GO/AO in 19 in 0.49. so there is something other than PEDs in question here as well since there is some issues right there as well.

Then two questions arise?

-how did he never get caught?

and if he didn’t

-why would he/did he stop?
He was quietly rumored before, would have to do some digging to find it. But yeah, something is fishy about his play nonetheless. He was a star, a top AL hitter, MVP candidate. You don't lose your powers at 25 years old, unless you cheated for those powers and no longer cheat.

Seems pretty obvious to me. However, how did he get away with it for a few years?

Because the policy is a joke and nobody respects it, but I have no reason to believe he would stop if he were using.

Are you folks watching these swings? Dude looks miserably out of balance, absolutely no weight distribution and it’s killing his ability to drive the ball. Which is why he’s over or under everything, pop ups and choppers, bat not going through the zone on the same path.

If you can identify and recognize this then what the hell is Ty Van Burkleo doing? Maybe Jose needs an actual hitting coach to get in his shit. PEDs still raises eyebrows with him though. The drop off at his age doesn't make sense not one bit.

I tend to agree with @MirORich and @AZ_ here.

If Jose was actually juicing the last couple of years, but never failed a test, why would he have stopped?

Just don’t buy that.

I want to believe so badly that this team could still make the playoffs and make some noise...

The bullpen is good, they've got some good young pitchers that are filling in, Clevenger is coming back soon...

They really just need a talent infusion in the hitting lineup, whether it's via trade or by promoting internally...
The bullpen has been a real pleasant surprise. The strength of the team, really. Who saw that coming?

Baseball will forever be weird.

Jose is the issue himself, he needs to actually slow himself down, and actually just purposely hit the other way for awhile. He has to change some of his mentality to get himself back on track. Honestly though he has been very unlucky on top of the fact he is struggling which makes him press anymore, but I agree with AZ_ watch his swing and it tells you everything. Even if Burkleo has talked to him, its up to Ramirez to fix the issues people are starting to all see in his swing.

Well that and hes not 25.

Well that and hes not 25.
He was 25 last year around July 22nd through getting swept by Houston and he batted under .200, his dip has been legendary considering he was MVP worthy and entering his prime. It doesn't make sense. Yes, Baseball is very weird. He's still batting under .200 to this day.

And let's not get it twisted, I want to see him bounce back, Tribe baseball is pretty damn fun when times are good.

Tribe just clinched a second straight series win against a division leader but let’s speculate if a struggling player was juicing. Worst fucking fan base in baseball.

Ah, how do you propose we celebrate?

I do think the juicing thing is stupid, but, the team is going nowhere if Jose continues to perform like this. He can’t barrel anything. Unlucky my ass.
