I’ll say this... I, and I’m sure many others don’t post on the Indians forum very often because of most of the underlying snark and flat out rude responses that a lot of guys give off.

At the risk of sounding like the old guy yelling at a cloud, the Indians forum hasn’t always been this way and I do miss it. I’m certain that a lot of guys have been scared off by not wanting to get into pissing matches over trivial sidepoints. Most of us are all fans of the same team. I think we lose that perspective often.

You’re misinterpreting what I’m saying here (which is ok) and lashing out at me. I’m not being “holier than thou”. Holier than thou would indicate I think I’m better than you. I don’t. You’ll have to trust me on this. I think posters on here criticizing an entire fanbase makes about as much sense as stereotyping people. And I think that people conveniently forget that the fanbase supports the team (which I consistently give a lot of credit to) very, very well by watching it on television.

What you’re interpreting as holier than thou is me pointing out that when die hard fans, whos identities are tied up in the activity of sports teams, attack people’s opinions they don’t like...it’s

A) not conducive to conversation and
B) is embarrassing to those people

Conversation that goes against the grain appears to die hard fans to be trolling because it isn’t solely positive. Conversation about a team, or any topic, doesn’t have to be what you like all the time. In fact, it shouldn’t be.

Someone says Jose takes PEDs and you don’t like it? Give an alternate opinion as @AZ_ did with good reasoning or keep on scrolling. But this logic that everyone has to agree all the time is weird.

I also don’t need you guys, or anyone, to think I (or anyone else) is some kind of superfan to get appreciation out of Cleveland teams or sports in general when they put out a worthwhile, watchable product. Imagine making rules for how much someone has to support something in order to be allowed to like it. This is how radical religion works.

This team is so confusing. I have no idea if they are really bad and overperforming, or alternatively, if they're really good and underperforming. I lean the former, but winning two out of three against the Twins followed by, at worst, two out of three against the Yankees is, well, confusing to me.
