2019 Series #34 | Indians @ Royals | July 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love how you’ve spun this into him just being a passionate guy with moxie who really cares

Guy can literally do no wrong

Also he’s taken a pretty big step back from last season’s Cy campaign. Well, unless you take out his several bad starts then he’s been great. Which for some reason is a popular argument
I'm not spinning anything. The statement you quoted has nothing to do with today's game, and I never said anything about "moxie".

Just because I don't find it necessary to trash guys every time they make a mistake, or have a bad day doesn't mean I think they can do no wrong.

He's a really good pitcher that increases our chances of winning a World Series. No, he's not the best pitcher in the AL like he was last year, but he's still damn good.

It's pretty amazing how many people came out of the woodwork to shit all over Bauer when he gives them the opening to do it.

I thought we were over the "I don't want want this guy on the team because he's different" thing. Boy was I wrong.
Been here the whole time. Think all of my takes have been quite consistent with him

And I DONT want to trade Bauer this season. Mostly because of Kluber and Carasco’s health

But I also don’t think this should be brushed off as just a fiery competitor . Like why is it so hard to acknowledge it was a shitty move and he’s pitched more like a high end #2 pitcher this year than an ace. I really don’t think that is such a hot take

Thoughts if Cookie or Kluber did this?

Cookie used to take a lot of shit back when he used to throw at guys, but I don't think either would see this kind of backlash FROM THEIR OWN FANS.

Those are both realistic. No qualms there.

Who has brushed this off as him being a fiery competitor? Literally my first post on the topic says "he did something stupid".

Also, I don't disagree at all that he's been more in line with a high end #2.

Sure, he's taken a step back from 2018, but he's a sizable step above what he was pre-2nd half of 2017

The guy lost his cool during an awful inning and looked like a jackass. Seemed like he immediate felt remorse for it when Tito yelled at him on the mound and he had what looked like a sincere apology postgame. Being emphatic towards Bauer doesn't mean we think he can do no wrong.

Lemme ask the forum something, if you punch a hole in the wall at work, because you're mad about something you did, what do you expect the ramifications to be?

Probably get sent to a anger management course and required to pay for the drywall repair

Comparing professional athletes to regular workers almost never works. But if I was incredibly important to my business' success as Bauer is to the Indians? I'd probably have to apologize, accept a minor form of discipline, and then we'd move forward.

Oh, are we doing the thing where we pretend pro sports are the same as our everyday jobs?
To answer you question though, pay for repairs.

You'll also be written up and/or fired. I know, because I did it. And yeah, it's pretty much bullshit these people are not held to the same standard when they have thousands of times more visibility and make just as much more than the common man. I love Bauer, but frankly, today was my breaking point with him. He blew up during the playoffs last year. He's either lights out or gets shelled. He needs to go.

A better comparison to that example, if we are comparing, would be when athletes actually cause physical damage to property. Throwing/snapping bats, taking hacks at the Gatorade jug, kicking the DoubleBubble container, etc. And as was covered a few pages back, that is pretty common
