2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

It's going to be Dotson,Bickerstaff and Windler speaking today.

I have never seen this during any game I have attended.. I have seen an unselfish player who helps on defense, shares the rock, and is willing to play any role. He is an average skill NBA player, past his physical peak.. I see him on the extra minutes squad as soon as they trust Okoro on defense..
You have never seen him play crap defense, not box out and turn the ball over carelessly? I must be watching games you don’t attend then

I think his handle is worse than he thought it was. He said ballhandling was a focus this offseason. Really, what you are describing is him using his athleticism in Europe and getting rebounds, handling the ball, by being faster and stronger. He still has good athleticism, but isn't special by NBA standards. He needs to work on fundamentals of those things for sure.

I think the defense thing was just a mess last year. The system sucked and no one played great d besides Nance(who also slacked more than we are used to) McKinnie and sometimes Delly.

They saw how useless the D was and you can't get guys to play when there isn't a team effort. Cedi has been much better when guys are locked in. Okoro said yesterday something like he can't fix the defense by himself, there has to be buy in from the team. Beilein didn't get buy in, but Bickerstaff did and they actually got some stops at the end of the game in the last few weeks. That didn't happen all year and made them lose games they even led in. the 4th.

I actually think Cedi is going to play better with fewer minutes. I am not sure he has the stamina to play all out the way he is known for as a starter. Playing 25 min I think he can make more impact.

The only game I attended, Garland was on the floor with Cedi, and I think Thomson. Garland was getting burned on every trip down the court. Cedi was flying around trying to cover for the gaps, but that left his man open. It was impossible..so I don't think that last year was a measure of Cedi, defensively... He was definitely hurt by the rooks..

1. It was the organization's fault for hiring Beilin.

2. It was Beilin's fault for thinking his style would work in the NBA and not making the proper adjustments.

3. It was the player's fault for not buying into Beilin's system. Maybe,Beilin's could have worked in the NBA. We will never know.

Dotson thinks he can show the younger guards that everyday is not the same. One day you might be off, one day you might be on.

No offense to him, but Sexton has started 3x as many games as Dotson despite being a couple years younger. Just more fluff from the media.

its all fluff from every player lol They pretty much just say whatever the journalist prompts them to say. None of them really ponder what they are going to answer with, just say first thing that comes to mind.

Fedor: Andre do you want to be defensive player of the year?
Drummond: Yes
Fedor article: Drummond has set a goal of winning DPOY

This is hilarious

Just saw the interview with Drummond before last night's game. He warned fans to expect "bad basketball" and said it's going to be "real sloppy, I think" for the first month.

"But if we’re doing it hard and to the best of our ability that’s a success.”

Way to set the bar low, big fella. I guess Dre was expecting a bunch of bumbling but lovable losers who at least are trying hard. I wonder if last night's game upped his expectations any.

I thought the same as Drummond tbh but there's a level of effort and buy in that I even saw in preseason. Not going to be a whole lot of wins but it's going to be fun. I thought the team was getting more fun as it approached the end, then COVID struck.
