2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Damn Seth Curry was a Cavalier?!! Dammit!
That one and Danny Green haunt me sometimes. Did the Cavs also pick Tyus Jones, or am I imagining that?

We traded the 26th pick for 31 and 36 that year. So really Minny picked Tyus. We took Cedi at 31 and Rakeem Christmas at 36.

Cedi has been solid for a pick that late in the draft.

Cavs have let some guys get away. Joe Harris is the one that bugs me the most.

I am very happy to have Jarrett Allen.

But I'm sorta surprised this even went through... Best to Caris.

Kinda am too, but I know there's been some stuff under the surface with Oladipo and Indiana was pretty excited to get rid of him for a guy who can produce somewhat close to his level.

That’s 10 day contract legend Seth curry to you.

Seth Curry was briefly a Cavalier, not his brother Steph Curry of the Warriors. Seth played nine minutes as a Cavs rookie before being traded. He's played on seven teams in seven years.
Oh, I know that, I forgot he was a Cavalier as a rookie.

He's a pretty good shooter (albeit not his more famous bro), hence the 76ers being one of the better teams out there.
Seems that the Cavs (until now) tend to draft or acquire players like these and they go somewhere else and be good.

Joe Harris always kill the Cavs....

We also had Klay Thompson’s brother play for us at one point.

Unfortunately they weren’t the “Splash brothers” and more like the “Squirt Brothers” :chuckle:

I keep thinking about that whenever I see him on the Nets. He's definitely in position to do that now that Harden is on that team.
A casualty of the title run. I even thought he was a good "LeBron Offense" player since catch-and-shoot is his thing.

The Cavs just missing on getting Klay in the 2011 Draft will always be one of those "what if?"s. Had the trade lined up with Utah to pick him at #12, then Golden State blows it up by taking him at #11.

Wow, I didn't know that.

Nance leading the league in steals and Drummond being 7th is crazy.

I hope the Cavs can keep thsi up and one, if not both, make an all-defensive team. That would be cool.

Wow, I didn't know that.

Can't remember where I heard that, but yeah, apparently it was a thing.

I did a quick search to see if I could find anything to back it up. While I couldn't, I did find this gem of a review of the 2011 Draft.

On Klay Thompson, the writer, a presumably nice man named Andy Bailey, said: "Klay Thompson saw his draft stock skyrocket over the last couple weeks, and I think Golden State may have fallen into a trap here. They have a wealth of wings and guards, and would have been better off reaching for a big here. Grade: C"

I'm guessing Andy Bailey would like that one back.

Klay wasn't highly touted coming out of college. He was barely a lottery prospect in a weak draft, but has definetly outplayed his draft position by a mile. I personally didn't think Klay was gonna be any good back then. I was wrong too.

I might need to check my old posts, but I remembering being OK with a trade down to get Klay that year after Kyrie.

Imagining what happens when LeBron comes back to that team....
