2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With the Raptors struggling at the center position and them cutting Alex Lens I figured I would go to their team forum to see their perspective on possible trades.

Here is what I saw proposed:
Powell/McCaw for Nance/Jarrett Allen or other variation where KPJr fills in for either Allen or Nance.

Someone then didn’t like this trade but only because Nance was trash.

Beautiful.

Powell and McCaw alone wouldn’t be enough for just Allen. If they wanted Allen cheap they missed their opportunity

Crazy that we got him due to:

(1) Rockets wanting a late 1st over Allen.

(2) Nets acquiring Shamet for a 1st (2020 19th pick) in a three team trade then failing to flip him for a 1st thus using Allen to acquire the 2022 Buck’s pick we had.

The Raptors are 5-8 and in 13th place. They don't strike me as a team that would be interested in renting Drummond and making a run for it this season.

About 15 games in to the 72-game season and teams are starting to separate themselves into tiers; the contenders, the middle-of-the-pack, and the stragglers.

In the East five teams have separated from the pack and are all within 0.5 games of the lead; Boston, Milwaukee, Philly, Indiana, and Brooklyn. Indiana might have a problem - they just traded Victor Oladipo and his 20.0 points per game for Caris LeVert, who is out 6-8 weeks to have a mass removed from his kidney.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn traded Allen and Prince but gained Harden and they have Kyrie returning tonight.

The pretenders are a group of seven teams, including the Cavs, who are all 1-2 games under .500. Four of those teams will miss the playoffs once they get down to eight teams. The stragglers are the Raptors (5-8), Wizards (3-8), and Pistons (3-10).

I don't think they'll trade for Drummond either (maybe McGee) but they can certainly use a center. Chris Boucher has been amazing, they've won 3 games in a row after losing by 1 point to both Golden State and Portland. They just need to never give Siakam the ball in a meaningful situation down the stretch.
