Can you guess who is who without looking up players and/or stats?
Didn't think to look up who is who.. just looked at the numbers and suggested B..

If the keyholder wants to reveal the names.. okay.. if not..then okay, too..

A stunning lack of curiosity.. perhaps?

The Angels are one of the weirdest franchises in sports.

The owner puts his money where his mouth is... They make splashes, they get headlining talent. Just can't get starting pitching nor draft and develop consistently..

Yet the owner pumps money out left and right...

The Angels sort of prove how baseball is different from most other sports. They spend a ton of money and have the best player in the sport in his prime and are non-competitive because their starting pitching has been horrendous. Cleveland competes because they have pitching. He needs at least 2 Trevor Bauer level pitchers to become relevant.

From Trade Rumors and The Athletic:

MLB instructed clubs in a memo last week to proceed under the assumption the DH will not be used in the NL this year, though few will complain if the league and union reach agreement to the contrary. Roster size is trickier. A team might be more inclined to make a Rule 5 pick if rosters will be at 28 for at least the start of the season.

Part of the delay, it seems, was the MLBPA’s desire to settle upon the composition of its eight-player executive subcommittee before beginning detailed negotiations. That group (Zack Britton, Jason Castro, Gerrit Cole, Francisco Lindor, Andrew Miller, James Paxton, Max Scherzer and Marcus Semien) was finalized last week, per Davidoff.

WTF - the players union can't decide of an 8 member executive committee in time to have it in place to make a couple necessary and critical decisions for the players. And then to come away with Lindor and Cole on it ????

Neither of those guys have the experience or business sense to be on the executive committee, Lindor in particular who isn't even to free agency. And these are the same guys who will be in place when the CBA talks begin in earnest.

Disappointed to say the least. But I guess it really isn't anything new. The same old disfunction and bad choices that have been the legacy of the union since Tony Clark ascended to the top.

reds trade iglesias for noe ramirez - good, expensive closer for cheap jag

The Royals have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent first baseman Carlos Santana, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports (via Twitter). The contract is worth $17.5MM in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan (Twitter link), with another $1MM available in incentives. The majority of the money will come in 2022, as the New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports that Santana will earn $7MM in 2021 and then $10.5MM in the second year of the deal. Santana is represented by Octagon’s Ulises Cabrera and Brian Mejia.

The $17.5MM matches what Santana would have earned in 2021 had the Indians exercised their club option on his services. Instead, Cleveland declined the option and bought Santana out for $500K, sending him into free agency.

I'm surprised he signed for that little, I think he must have wanted Texas at the end of the day. Its good for the Tribe though he didn't sign for me though

3 mil sounds just right to me.. what surprises me is there isn't some option attached to it

No reason they can't discuss an extension over the next year..
