Agreed.. a very nice landing spot for Bauer.. Joe Maddon and Bauer together would be entertainment in and of itself.. Arte Moreno would love to have the focus OFF the Dodgers and on the Angels.. Make an additional deal with for an impact bat or two in a three way deal..and the Angels will have their headlines.. maybe a few more wins, too..

Angels though are out of the Lindor deal since they already went and got an SS.

ABSOLUTELY NOT - just won't happen.

Gson, have you forgotten who the pitching coach for the Angels is ????

They were never in the Lindor sweepstakes. They just don’t have what it takes to make a deal for him.

The Angels have been and remain (from an Indians trade perspective).. all about the acquisition of starting pitching. Dan O'Dowd suggested that the Shohei Otani circus should be ended with Otani ONLY playing as an everyday RF'er.. I agree with that.. not only because Otani has proven he can't stay healthy, but it also dovetails nicely into what the Indians have to offer: Starting Pitching.. What the Angel have is of considerable interest: Brandon Marsh CF'er/OF'er..

Brandon Marsh, D'Shawn Knowles and Jordyn Adams as a trio of OF'ers.. perhaps Jack Kochanowicz as an arm and, of course.. a Deeeee-Luxe Tribe specialty.. Adam Seminaris, a LHP with impeccable control and room to grow in both stuff and command.. A deal with some of these guys.. perhaps adding Jahmai Jones as a 2B/OF/Util.. for one of the Tribe SP's.. could truly cement the OF now and into the future..

It's a stretch.. but.. The Indians and everyone else knows.. it would take a bit of luck to thread a needle that sees the Indians competing at the highest level in 2021.. but.. in 2022.. the depth of the Indians farm system should truly begin to reveal itself..

The Angels are one of the weirdest franchises in sports.

The owner puts his money where his mouth is... They make splashes, they get headlining talent. Just can't get starting pitching nor draft and develop consistently..

Yet the owner pumps money out left and right...

I feel you are overrating Frazier to be honest, but if they do trade for him, they felt he was the best available..Guirrel is a better OF overall in Toronto though
You have the right to form your very own opinion even if I think it’s wrong. My opinion is that Frazier is on the verge of breaking out in a big way and that Gurriel Jr is not the impact player that Frazier is on either side of the ball. Damn good player for sure and I wouldn’t be disappointed if he became an Indian unless they turned down Frazier to get him.

I am not against getting him back in Cleveland, I just personally feel some people have been overrating him is all, but we shall see in due time who is right.

With regard to Clint Frazier I have a serious question: Going back to 1990, how many times has the Tribe TRADED a player away & then re-acquired that same player in a different trade?? I think it might have happened once/ twice in that time frame. The point is: it doesn't happen very often.

The reason I raise this: the Tribe FO makes moves based upon the information they have. Many parts of that info & reasoning is unknown by the general fan-base (people like you & me). If the FO feel Frazier is not a fit for this club, I don't think they will trade to get him back..

If the Tribe FO feels the Yankees trade package (with Frazier) is the best return for Lindor, I expect them to make the trade. But I also think if they prefer a different trade offer from another club, they will make that trade of Lindor instead.

@CDAV45

Two players 162 game stats
Player A) .258/.331/.475, 32 2Bs, 5 3B, 24 HRs, 5 SBs, 53 BBs, 170 SOs

Player B) .287/.327/.508, 32 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 42 HRs, 10 SBs, 43 BBs, 193 SOs

Player A plays a better RF, Player B plays a better LF, but has 1000+ minor league innings at both 2B and SS. They are a year apart, A is a free agent in 25 and B is a free agent in 24.

Which one would you prefer?

A vastly different situation existed to send Clint Frazier away... the acquisition of Andrew Miller and what the CLEFO thought he could do.. versus going with the existing pen.. made all the sense in the world at that moment in time..

The Indians would make the same decision again..if given the chance.. Sometimes you have to pay to play..

As far as Frazier vs. Gurriel Jr.. why not both.. If the tribe has decided they are going to weaken/lessen their chances to compete in 2021 (the decision to trade Lindor makes this more realistic).. the why not look at it as a chance to retool the outfield.. those two guys with Valera or Johnson or Marsh.. or someone.. would make the outfield much stronger.. Would the strong OF coupled with the internal candidates along with any other additions make the club in the aggregate stronger than if they were to keep everyone and try one more time in 2021?.

Those decisions are made by CA & MC & why they make the big $$$
