I think that's exactly what this was, and I even mentioned it the other day when they opted out.Huge......what a boost to the Buckeyes. I'm kind of convinced Davis and Wade scripted this....put pressure on Big 10 to get this shit done. So much props to Shaun Wade's father and Justin Fields.
I agree.Perhaps they wanted to make a statement, but why would that matter? I'm not sure how 2 OSU guys saying they were going to skip the season would put pressure on "no" school like Michigan to vote to have a season. Makes sense that it would put pressure on OSU...but OSU was already in favor of having a season anyway.
I agree.
If they holdup was other Universities' P/C potentially not wanting to play, I don't see how OSU players declaring for the draft affects them. Imagine Rutgers P/C saying, "Well, I don't think we should play in October, but now that Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis won't play in a winter/spring season, we must play now"
Was there any indication that was being discussed? Including Wade and Davis, only 21 players officially opted out, and some the biggest names (Parsons, Moore, Bateman) all did so before they cancelled/postponed the season in August.but if the top 3-5 players from every team follow suit

I guess it possible players were privately telling their P/C they were going to do that, but that seems like a stretch.

Probably have to go undefeated to make the cfp. At least that’s my gut reaction
I don't see any way Michigan is undefeated entering The Game. They probably have the toughest schedule in the conference. Bet they have at least 2 losses by that point.Do we think it could be an undefeated matchup for The Game?

My initial reaction to people's initial reaction, is this is a weird year, and I don't think any game should be taken for granted. Weather is going to be a huge factor, and as good as Fields is, our passing game will be neutralized based on the calendar. I think our schedule is more challenging than people are giving it credit for.
There also is the added variable of a positive Covid test perhaps resulting in a key player or players missing games.
