2020 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, if anyone can offer him lucrative money it would be Texas. So that doesn’t really rule anything out.

Just sharing what I heard. Said 25% chance he would ever coach again, however you want to interpret that. He would be a top target at any potential opening so he certainly has the luxury of being selective if he wants.

The finish to that BYU-Coastal game was wild, delivered on the last minute hype.

It was a really good game and I really wish college football would reward those teams for scheduling that game and reward BYU for flying across country on two days notice to go play it.

Instead, BYU will be left with some shitty bowl and Coastal Carolina won't even garner a single thought to make the 4 team playoff.

This whole system is broken.

Opening line for tOSU v Meatchicken.....

Buckeyes favored by 30
All time high in the series. Previous high was tOSU -21.5 in 2014.....

Will they play another opponent if Michigan cancels before Friday night?

Would need to be by Wednesday per B1G rules for Michigan to cancel and OSU find another opponent.

I know this will never happen, but since OSU and Northwestern are essentially locked in as division winners with a week to spare... it would be nice to see the B1G move the B1G Championship game up a week early and then OSU/Michigan can play the following week. It just feels so empty to have a college football season without the greatest rivalry in all of sport NOT being played. COVID year or not. Need to find a way to make it happen.

It's sounding like another opponent *should* be available if/when Michigan cancels.

I'll take any one other than another Nebraska game. Usually does nothing for strength of schedule and also gives other team redemption/upset shot that they don't deserve. If it was a Championship game rematch, so be it. Really Nebraska offers nothing. Getting Maryland would be nice since that game was cancelled.

But as others have said. Money talks and Big 10 to shot themselves in the foot by not allowing OSU in the champ game pretty much disqualifies them from getting playoff money. Doubt that it really happens.

What are you hearing and where? Only team, other than Michigan, with reported COVID issues is Minnesota and it sounds as though they're improving and likely playing this weekend. If for some reason both Michigan and Minnesota cancel I would hope the B1G switches some shit around to have Rutgers play Nebraska and OSU play Maryland to avoid rematches. Since Northwestern has clinched why not give them the week off and OSU can play Illinois? I doubt Northwestern would love having 2 straight weeks off though. The SEC and ACC have made schedule changes to benefit their championship contenders. That would require some leadership from the B1G though... so no one should hold their breath in that regard.

This is what some insiders are saying is likely to happen (provided both Michigan & Minnesota do cancel).
