2020 NBA Draft

I'll be so disappointed if we draft Toppin, he looks like a complete stiff on defence. Most of his scores are dunks. He can hit wide open 3's but he bricks badly on semi contested shots, extra length in NBA is gonna hurt him. He also can't make any moving shots. Just can't understand why we would have any interest.

There is an Anthony Bennett in this draft and I think it is Toppin. He will actulaly have a career, but his offensive repertoire is not what it is claimed to be.

I think Toppin is better built for the NBA than Bennett was but I understand the concern. He is a late bloomer but he wasn't anything particularly special before he had his growth spurt. My concern is that he didn't have any division 1 offers and had to go to prep school to get one. I think he has the work ethic but the question is what is his ceiling. He is older but he is fairly new at playing as a big. He is a player I could see why a GM could convince themselves to take him or pull him from their board.

If Deni is there at 5, I believe we will take him.
I watched some more film on him and he kind of reminds me of Toni Kukoc with potential of better D so maybe like Hedo. I did not realize his help defense is pretty good. His off the ball movement is off the charts. He is not just able to create his shot but he knows where to be at and at the right times too.

I just think Chicago will take him if he is there.

Yeah, clearly in most cases he’s speaking in ceiling terms and not floor or bust terms.

I had Bey as the 3rd-best defensive wing in the draft when I did my ratings, behind only Vassell and Green. In terms of immediate NBA impact, could make a strong case he's #1. Closest thing to a Thybulle in this draft. Good time to post this video:
