Jed sure don't play a rook bump.

Jed played very well on that play, showed is athletic ability. Honestly the only thing the LG did on the play was stay in front, he was getting pushed back, but Hunt adjusted, jed and Ngoku both had good blocks, actually for your tight end to take out the d-end like that was incredible.

Huge that the culture shift for the Browns included all of our pass catchers buying into the importance of blocking. That was a key to the Steelers having so much success running the ball for so many years.

Why does Jarvis get credit for changing the culture when we went 13-18-1 with 3 head coaches in his first 2 seasons?

Berry and Stefanski changed the culture. Jarvis is a great leader, but like my avatar, a great player leader can only do so much.
Because the Browns quietly had the best blocking receivers last year, too, per PFF. I agree, overall, but I think things like receivers blocking has a lot to do with Jarvis.

Oh,he's a good leader and does the little things well. I just think when we talk about the Browns culture change, the guys who deserve the lions share of the credit are Kevski and Berry (and I guess Haslam for hiring good people and shutting up.)

And I think guys like Bitonio and Baker and Myles and Chubb are perhaps as integral as player leaders as Jarvis is. Yet, when people ask "who changed the culture" somehow Jarvis always gets the most credit.

I totally agree. I actually think Baker has really progressed as a leader this season, too, which I think probably has something to do with Stefanski. Stefanski changed the culture, style of play, and results for this team within one season. He’s my COTY and it’s not particularly close.

The Jedrick pick was a pretty big deal in hindsight. If he had been a bust, last season would have looked really different if they had to roll Greg Robinson out there again. Maybe Wirfs or Becton would have worked out just as well, but the Browns didn’t screw up a “must get it right” pick and that was big.

I think Wirfs was phenomenal as a guard last year, but he was nowhere close to being ready as a tackle. Becton is a beast, but I worry about his mobility in this offense.

Jed was such a perfect pick for what we needed last season and into the future.

Wills should improve more than most as he further adjusts to the left side. I do think Becton is clearly the better player right now, and I think he's quick enough that he'd still be better playing in this offense. But I do think he would have been the riskier pick because of the issue of weight control, and health. If Becton keeps his weight under control, and stays healthy, he's probably a HOF'er.

Wirfs was excellent last year but he was a RT, not guard. Not sure if he will be a LT, he was always projected as a RT out of college.

Did Wirfs even play guard in Tampa last year? If so, I missed it.

I'd have to go through and watch a ton of film to get an NFL evaluation on him. It's just so damn hard to grade a tackle in a Tom Brady offense. Brady might be the best there's ever been at getting rid of the football and ensuring he doesn't take a sack.

That all being said, Wirfs certainly outperformed my prospect evaluation of him.

Yeah - meant tackle, but posted from my phone and too quickly.
