2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I THINK CHRIS ANTONETTI IS SEXY!!

With all the problems facing US cities right now, from this terrible virus to crumbling infrastructure, it would be absolutely insane for any city to be spending any money beyond transportation and infrastructure to build retracting roof palaces for pro sports teams. I love baseball, basketball, and to a lesser extent concussionball but I hope fans wake up to this insanity and begin standing up for our cities again. Teams can have their fancy ass domes when they pay for them themselves.

The Rays Stadium commission have a site (where ever Ybor City is)and preliminary plans for the magnificent NEW stadium.. I'm not sure if it's in Pasco or Pinellas.. but it's coming..

Here are the preliminary renderings: https://www.draysbay.com/2018/7/10/17556214/tampa-bay-rays-ybor-city-stadium-design-images

btw..the dungeon (the trop) is the current venue..

Edit: It's Hillsborough County..

Rays officials declined to comment for this story. The team has a contract with St. Petersburg to play at Tropicana Field through 2027.

“Likely it will be post-2027 unless they could work something out with St. Petersburg," Shaw said. “I hope baseball does come here. I think it would be good for Tampa. I think it’d be good for Ybor City.”

Word coming out that Rangers have dealt Lance Lynn to the White Sox.

Dane Dunning plus head back to the Rangers...

Good get for the WS, but they also paid a significant price for one year of Lynn.

The Rays aren’t trading for Carrasco. They’re open to moving Blake Snell because they reportedly need to cut payroll and he makes even less next season than Cookie. If there’s a team to keep an eye on for a Carrasco trade, it is the Angels.

More WSox news....

Adam Eaton returns to south side.. 2 yrs 15.5 mil (yr 1 = 7M, yr 2 as club option at 8.5M/ 1M buyout)

What a horrid signing. Dude had a 76 OPS last year. Kenny Williams has lost his damn mind.

Eaton is an overpay as he is injury prone and production with Nats has been on the decline.

You are underrating Eaton a fair amount especially on that roster. He won't have to be the main guy and he compliments who is there. I expect the 19 numbers which isn't gonna be good for us.

I’m not so sure having watched him up close with the Nats the past several seasons. He’s on the wrong side of 30 for a guy whose calling card used to be speed.

The White Sox are one of the few clubs that still operate like it’s the 1980’s.

Very behind the times on the use of data, analytics, sports and performance science, etc.

Just very behind the times and it’s a turn off for many. It’s why Bauer and Springer were always pipe dreams.

Yet here they are, likely the best team in the AL Central at this moment.

If baseball is reliant on the “appeal” of sabermetrics then it’s done. Dead on the vine.......done.
