2020 series #15 Indians at Twins Sep. 11-13

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Congrats to Shane Bieber for getting to 100 K's faster than any pitcher in baseball history. Pretty amazing. Not even the Express ever struck out 100 in his first 62 innings. And he's all ours for three more years assuming we trade him a year before free agency.

Nice having a big bat like Mercado on the bench for these situations.
I thought they would pinch hit Luplow who at least might hit one out off the lefty and tie the game. Why Mercado unless they thought the Twins would bring in a right-handed pitcher to face Luplow.

I would have left Naquin in. He hits lefties pretty well, better than Mercado.

isn't the new policy trading these guys 21/2 years before free agency?

Pinch hitting for Naquin..... With Mercado..... Don't do that.....

Naquin vs. LHP this year in 15 PA's

.000 Avg
.067 OBP
.000 SLG
.067 OPS

Not sure why they went with Mercado, and not Luplow, but pinch hitting for Naquin was 1000% the right move

I dont know what Luplows done to be totally disrespected, but its frustrating to watch.

Luplow has not gotten a shot to play every day, and now he isn't used in an obvious pinch hitting situation.

He isnt exactly tearing the cover off the ball, but he is hitting .250 this year vs lefties and we know his history.

.250 doesn't sound like much, but Oscar is hitting .118 vs lefties.

Two outs. Ninth inning. Down two with a runner at second.

We need one big swing to tie, or at least another base runner. Oscar's OBP vs lefties is .118. Luplows is .321.

If they want to take their closer out of the game, let them do it....if they even had another pitcher up.

We get Rich Hill tonight, a 40-year-old soft tossing, crafty lefty. Exactly the kind of pitcher the Indians have always floundered against. Hill held the Tribe to one run in five innings in his first start against them. In five starts this year he's averaging barely over four innings per start and has not pitched more than five. I imagine he'll baffle the Indians hitters for five innings tonight and turn it over to the pen.

Plesac is going for the Tribe. He has not faced the Twins this year but has given up two earned runs in his last three starts.

Romo has been suspended by MLB for one game following incident yesterday. Lindor was fined in the same incident.

Beginning of the end for the Tribe here.

Rich Hill is throwing 74mph. Of course tribe hitters cannot touch him.

Mercado AND Luplow in the lineup tonight - Luplow K's in his 1st AB - Mercado K's in his 1st AB - sigh
Mercado OPS is .356. Cruz is above 1.000 OPS.
