Besides, we are only a game out of the fourth seed, which means we could avoid any chance of facing Tampa, Oakland, or Chicago in the first round.

update: just read the playoff breakdown, and wild cards are indeed seeded after second place teams regardless of record.

If we would somehow survive the decisions being made tonight and win this game, things could get very interesting.

Biebs and Plesac go the next to nights. Its not out of the question that we could win both. We would then be a game behind Chicago, and who knows where the Twins will be, but a split in their last two games with Detroit would put them in a tie with Chicago.

Chicago plays the Cubs and Minny plays the Reds...while we play Pittsburgh.
