I kinda miss 1996 in the NBA, tho. In NBA Live 95 I had a Supersonics team with Keith Van Horn, Glen Rice, Mitch Richmond and Mookie Blaylock and all I did was shoot 3s... Wait a fucking minute....
Lies !!!

Keith Van Horn was drafted #2 overall in 1997!!!

I meant NBA live 97, had Mitch Richmond on the cover. And the PC version, not the crappy console version.

Amen! I’m sure Love is sitting on some remote island in the South Pacific, with his fiancée, laughing maniacally in between sips of an umbrella drink and as he pretends to call Dan Gilbert on his money phone.

As any of us should if we were in Love's position.

I remember challenging my college room mate to games where id only score with John Crotty.

Having money doesn’t give one a pass and excuse them from working hard or fulfilling their job responsibilities to the very best of their abilities. Clearly, Love has grown lazy & become unmotivated. While you can fault Gilbert for signing Love to that ridiculous extension, you can’t fault him for Love’s newfound laziness & lack of motivation. It’s akin to stealing in my book.

Dave??? :blue:

I’m still waiting in our old dorm room for that 60th rematch. Did you ever get those taquitos?

Lots of rich folks are shocked by this post.

He came into the league chubby and worked himself into shape, he is still in the same shape so we know he works on his fitness to some level. His body is breaking down, he tried to play for team usa, he should have known better, but a lazy person wouldnt have played for free for team usa.

I think his head isnt into it, and he really is frustrated by his body failing him, but we have no clue if he is really lazy. For sure he isnt a useful player anymore, but we are assuming allot by calling him lazy.

If Love wants to get fat & lazy in retirement and on his own time, that’s fine. As long as he’s drawing a paycheck as a professional athlete then he’s obviously held to a different standard.

The last couple of years Love has told the Cavs that he was coming into camp in great shape and was ready to go. It’s been reported in the media that wasn’t exactly the case. We saw the same thing with team USA this summer.

Owners have insurance on these contracts and I know this because I used to work for a company that insures alot of NBA teams. In fact, we had the Celtics claim for Gordon Hayward after his horrific leg injury. The insurance will reimburse a portion of the athlete’s contract, if they are physically unable to perform. So, from that standpoint, owners may not care if an athlete, like Love, cannot play as they are getting at least some of their investment back.

Yes they have insurance, not sure Love is the type of hurt that will get a claim. The big thing that happened is our owner has a company that went public going from 7 billion to 40 billion in net worth thus a couple of 30 million payouts to his favorite toy doesnt bother him?

And maybe Love isnt in shape because he cant practice like he wants to because of his body breaking down?

Its a tough position, but the hatred you have seems a bit much. It sucks Love is no longer good, but I rather owe 2 year 60 million to Love than be Houston and owe Wall 2 years and 92 million, so it can always be worse, lol.

It's tough because we really don't know his situation. The fact the calf might still be a problem is super concerning. We have also seen him play well for stretches and then think his back is hurt by the way he moves on the floor.

He broke his knuckle doing push ups, so we know he isn't the toughest guy. An NBA trainer smugly asked me if I thought Olynyk was dirty on that play and laughed when I said yes. He said it happens all the time, but Love's arm just came out.

The pissy stuff on the court is hard to justify, but I have to say. That play with the ball against the Raptors was very weird. The official just threw the ball to Love from Half court. I have never seen an official not be beside the player on the baseline while putting the ball back in play. I can read that action as a "WTF??" from Love rather than trying to show up the official. Dunno the rules on where the official should be or whether he is obligated to be at the inbound point.
