Tweet for a slow news day. Looks like Bill Simmons is a fan of our roster (not that he's really relevant anymore). Also, apparently Steph is a big fan of Darius according to the clip.

Always cool to hear. I do wonder what he heard or saw that made him think this.

Just wanted to post this. I'm so late!

My question with Garland revolves around his aggressiveness. I really haven't seen that from him so far, and until he starts showing more of that, his ceiling is going to be limited to being a good/very good player. For him to be great, he's got to play with a bit more of the dog in him. It has to show up in his actual play, whether he ever displays that kind of emotion outwardly or not.

Yeah totally agree. He has seemed content to fill a "little brother" type of role on the court whether to Love or Sexton. He has to be the leader as the pg even if he still super young.

Sometimes I think people are too quick to judge Garland. He played 6 games at Vandy, got drafted, no summer league, then started with Coach Frieder.
Even somebody similar, like AI, played 2 years at Georgetown before the NBA. Let's see what Garland turns into this season now that he has a few real NBA players around him.

All NBA players are judged harshly at young ages. It isn't healthy, but it is the way things work. Someone called Sexton a bust because his play hasn't lead to winning yet, when he is a positive player. Word by the analytics guys was that "it would be a miracle" if Sexton was ever a positive player due to his poor advanced stats his rookie year. Then we heard the exact same thing after Garland's rookie year.

Good rule of thumb is that some people are better than others at projecting players, but ultimately guys add to their game in different ways, and there are multiple paths to being productive NBA players that even the best scouts don't see.

They haven't released it yet. By and large the roster is set, with the two 2-way contracts not counting towards the 15 man roster:

PG- Garland/Rubio/Pangos
SG- Sexton/Windler/Valentine/B.Thomas (2-way)
SF- Okoro/Osman/Stevens
PF- Markkanen/Mobley/Wade
C- Allen/Love/Kabengele/Fall (2-way)

Note: The players with non-guaranteed contracts are in italics.

thanks so 14 none 2-way players. Open spot for trade and taking back an extra player in the trade or picking up a FA player.

Check out my upcoming analytics tool, RCFRPGAT at rcfrpgat.gov

It’s a dynamic assessment tool that compiles all of what I perceive to be the best player “scouting reports” from this board into one scouting report that changes as the player’s career goes on.

I’ll even go back and edit our original predictions about the player to confirm whichever projections were most accurate and remove the ones that missed.

LOT of buzz about it on social media right now. Former MLB great Chuck Knoblauch has endorsed it and rumblings that Fernando Valenzuela is considering jumping on board as a minority investor. Meetings with NBA legend Anthony Goldwire and the entire original pit crew for early 90s phenomenon Bigfoot Monster Truck (TM)

Needless to say, lot of excitement here if anyone is interested in this product. Or service. Could be either I guess, not really sure of the difference yet. All part of the journey.

Thanks for your interest.

Did advanced stats have Sexton as a positive player in year 3?

I think he can. I do agree we need to see the aggressive Garland to reach that high ceiling. I would expect that he’s going to have those 30+ to bring that confidence to the next level when he starts flying. This season will be interesting for him.

I wonder if the Thunder would be willing to absorb Kevin Love without us giving up any value. Maybe they could resurrect his career & flip him for assets. They need to reach the cap floor anyways.

It would be in our best interest to dump him there. Like a no-brainer.

Presti has been a magician at taking bad contracts and making them work for him, but they just bought out Kemba and I doubt he's going to do the same thing again for Love. He'd have to be convinced that Love is reclaimable/flipable ala Paul, Horford, & Schroeder and that's going to be a hard sell.

What's the most you would give up to get rid of him? 2 2nds? Wade? Windler? We really don't have any assets between Windler and a guy we took in the lottery or a potential lottery pick next year.
