2021 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well that is interesting & disappointing news regarding Vargas & Hankins.

If the Tribe needs a 40 man spot, Vargas can shift over to the 60 day IL and his spot would be available for usage..

That is a bummer. Seems like a move to 60 day IL for Vargas is likely, when they have decided who to add next. Lets hope Hankins is more precautionary than serious...

Indians Prospective Twitter is communicating some of the minor league team rosters.

Here is High A Lake County...

MT88 Comment: looking over some of these names, all I can say is 'oh my'.. I really need to get to Classic Park & catch a few games this summer.
Bats, yes. Pitchers, not so much.

What? There are some quality arms here and some of the low A guys will be here sooner than later. Also this is where Hankins will start if not injured.

This Kevin Coulter guy might be the next Cody Allen type. 33rd round pick with average college stats, who suddenly got way better in rookie ball as a reliever.

Pitchers not so much? 3 of your draft picks from 2020 are in that starting rotation between Burns, Allen, and Hickman. Gaddis, Perez, and Royalty rounding out that rotation will be a lot of fun.

Lake County is going to strike a lot of people out. There are a handful of relievers there that have lived at 12+ K/9 rates as pros. Couple of dudes with some funky ass deliveries too, most notably Rholl.

Nate Ocker really got screwed by a missed season because he was going to fly through the lower levels.

Yeah, Lake County should be the best team. We'll balanced mix of high upside and older guys that should perform. Loved the Ocker selection, the entire 3rd day of that 2019 draft they picked one value college reliever after another, good to ses most of them rostered.

Still missing Eichhorn and Mike Rivera, but they're probably injured.

Edit: just saw the IBI tweet that Mike Rivera is at the Alt site. Great. Akron roster is 4-5 players short, so he'll probably make it there as Naylor's backup, moving Rolette to 1B/C.

Ocker is another one. Lots of arms here to be interested in if not flat out excited.

Assignments I like:

A. Martinez to LYN, skipping AZL
Naranjo aggressively moved to A+, jumping J. Noel on the 1B depth chart.
Burns, L. Allen, Hickman straight to A+, not wasting any time, good. Along with Gaddis, this should be a kick ass rotation

Hickman is such a huge sleeper in this organization.

Big plans with him this year.

Who do you like better?..

Josh Wolf or Mason Hickman?

-better for control improvement: __________
-better for spin rate improvement:___________
-better for fastball command:_____________
-better for change up fade/run:_____________
-better for repeatable mechanics:_______________

Thoughts?..

Big year for Benson and Holmes. Need to prove they can hit . Tools galore but pitiful production at this point. Anxious to see The prospects from the Mets : Green and Wolf . Could soften the blow of losing Lindor 5 years from today

Gotta admit, and I hate to be negative, but I'm not sure I have a ton of confidence in either one at this point.

If it wasnt for their high draft status years ago, neither would be in this org.

They may have tools, but the one tool you have to have to be a position player in baseball...the ability to actually hit a baseball...is non existent.

They make Bradley and Jones look like Michael Brantley.

Sometimes the biggest mistake a person or organization can make is to refuse to own up to a mistake. Its often better to simply cut bait.
