2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Certainly a lot of star wings. Just surprised that after the Okongwu fever in this draft similar prospects are getting very little attention in the next draft.

Another big year by Bam/deep run by MIA and surely some of those types will rise closer to the draft?

Yeah, I'd think so. I'm normally the first guy to say that small-ball is overrated, but you just can't go wrong with long, athletic ~6'9" 240 guys. They can do everything defensively, and defense keeps winning championships year after year.

Does Green make sense for the Cavs? From what I have read he is similar to KPJ or Colin in terms of game but obviously better. I 100% think we should take him if he's BPA but we would have to move our core around a bit to adjust

Too early to tell. The flaws and weaknesses won’t show up until these guys starting playing real games. Might have a much better answer 3 months from
Now.

Okongwu was a riser himself right?

I'm sure the mocks are just lagging behind, and after a few good games he'll rise.

Edit: I didn't know he was a returner. Probably caps his rankings a lot, at least initially.

Don’t worry about Green so much as the mock draft pick by ESPN 8 months out, moreso the abundance of 6’7”-6’9” wings/combo forwards pegged as top10 picks + Mobley and then the small chance at Cunningham if we ended up with the first pick.

Given how thin this draft is at center, and how well those players appear to fit in the modern game, I'm surprised that they aren't higher up in mock drafts. What other options are there at center? Ignoring Mobley, who's occasionally listed at center but really a PF with his skinny frame and perimeter-oriented game, all this draft has is Garuba and Jackson-Davis, unless some other prospect significantly outperforms expectations.

Yeah, im 100% there will be better variation at the end, kind of like this year when the non existent wings actually came and took two spots in the top 5.

For now this is the draft of the wings, the most sought after commodity today, so I think everyone is just super keyed in on them.

Plus they're mock drafts, half are garbage even at the very end..

I want the Cavs to get a big, but I don’t see that happening.

If the Cavs luck into the #1 pick, that would probably be 3 PGs in four years. This rebuild has been a disaster to me. I don’t see Koby’s vision with these drafts picks and pieces.

Maybe getting Cade would give the Cavs a centerpiece?

Somewhat surprised that Trayce Jackson-Davis is virtually nonexistent on draft boards. Seems like a very modern small-ball 5 type...long, athletic, had some huge games in a very impressive freshman season last year. Why don't people like him?

I was roughing out a board based on some of the models from last year and he landed at #20 for me right now.

I’ll try to clean it up and share it out with everyone but I do think he’s one of the obvious riser candidates. He was productive last year and should see an expanded role.

Also Big 10 won't be stacked with elite bigs like it was last year. Lot of ingredients in place for him to put up monster numbers.

I'm surprised no mocks have Makur Maker in even the Lottery yet...

Huge raw project. Guys like that have to show production before they are seen as anything beyond G League material.
