2021 NFL Draft: Day 1

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I also assume Newsome is also insurance if they can't pay Ward and have to let him go.

Still can go get Payton Turner, Alim McNeill, Milton Williams, Levi Onwuzurike in the 2nd - hope one falls to us!

I wanna know if Greedy or Harrison will be the odd man out in our secondary

So who plays on the outside greedy or newsome?
Troy Hill likely starts in two CB sets, and kicks inside on 3 CB sets...

Greedy still has to prove he's healthy so I'd lean Newsome at this point..

Not only do the Browns have some top end DB talent they also have depth: Ward, Hill, Newsome, Williams, Johnson, Delpit and Harrison.. That's 7 deep right there with more to be added in this draft and some holdovers from last year like MJ Stewart and Sheldrick Redwine..

Ok who we targeting tomorrow

Yeah. Given the injury history between ward and greedy, another insurance in CB is a fine pick.

I wonder if we try to trade back to first round or move up in 2nd round and grab another defensive player.

I'd be shocked if Troy Hill is on the field in 2CB sets by mid-season.

He's solidly our third CB in my mind--it's the role he thrived in with the Rams.

Well there goes Turner —- EDGE guy to watch later on - Elerson Smith - some mocks have him in the 3rd round

As far as being a starter as defined as being in on the opening defensive snap/series, one of them might be the odd man out.

As far as actual snaps and series per game, given that the majority of our snaps will feature 5,6, or even 7 DB/hybrid types, there's no reasons that even in a game where everyone is fully healthy there won't be plenty of action for all of Ward, Hill, Newsome, Greedy, Johnson, Harrison, and Delpit

Im curious, what situations would 7 DBs be on the field?
