I can honestly say I have not seen a pitcher make such amazing progress since the start of the season.
Earlier this season I thought McKenzie might be a bust. Guess not!

Indians continue to own the Angels, having won 13 of 17. Can they move to the A.L. Central?

McKenzie with back-to-back gems. The kid is oozing confidence. One earned run in his last 15 innings and he struck out Ohtani three straight times. Wow! I don't know who worked with him after he was sent down but somebody deserves a ton of credit.

Amed is going nuts in August and Josie has apparently decided singles aren't worth his time and he only hits homers and doubles now.

Tomorrow they go for the sweep with Quantrill. Sweet.

I'm apparently right in the path of a hurricane which is supposed to hit tomorrow and take out the power for a while. Looks like I could miss both the Indians and Browns game. Bummer.

TMac was a Compensation A Round pick (#42)
Hillman in 2nd round.
Mark Mathias (dealt to Milwaukee) in the 3rd round
Tyler Krieger in the 4th round
Ka'ai Tom in the 5th round

All I know is that BR lists him as a first rounder as the 42nd pick...lol.

If there's been a bright side to this season, it's been McKenzie and Quantrill emerging as quality SPs. And they both have so much room to improve. I do worry that our starters next year would all be righties, but maybe we find a way to move Plesac-plus for a leftie.

I think all the MLB innings that have been handed out to all our young pitchers this season will pay future dividends, even if guys like Mejia, Hentges, Morgan and company have been a little erratic at times. Nothing like the real thing when it comes to getting experience as long as a person doesn't get completely overwhelmed, and I don't think any of these guys have been damaged by too much too soon.

3 out of 6 getting MLB action isn't a bad draft... Hillman still may see the pros and Krieger just never hit and somehow we still have Aiken listed in the organization...

He isn't wrong though, since that pick is considered a 1st round pick in some venues...
