The Indians keep getting young starters to face. Today it's LHP Jose Suarez, who looks to me like a 23-year-old left-handed Bartolo Colon at 5'10", 225 pounds. Suarez has appeared in 16 games this season, starting seven, with a record of 5-6, 3.88. He has a strong reverse split with lefties hitting .323 and righties .198. As a starter batters are hitting .248/.717.
As of a month ago his ERA was 2.29 but in his last five starts he's allowed 17 earned runs in 25 innings for a 6.12 ERA.
Cal Quantrill has a 1.88 ERA in August after a 2.86 ERA in July. For the season his ERA at home is 2.81.
Shohei Ohtani is 1-for-8 in the series (an infield single) and is hitting .221/.745 in August.
The Indians have outscored the Angels 14-2 the first two games and have outhit them 27-4. Harold Ramirez, Bobby Bradley, and Roberto Perez are working out on the field and Aaron Civale is about to make a rehab appearance for Akron. The Indians could have a pretty good September.
