2021 Series #11 | Cubs @ Indians | May 11-12, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Peralta , Mark Lewis type range or even Asdrubal Cabrera . Further back Tom Alan Bannister. Guys with decent sticks but mediocre range
I like the Mark Lewis reference.......that a blast from the past, didn’t he blowup as a second basement with the Reds

he had one really good year with the reds covering 50 games or so? but they moved him pretty quickly - he was with like 5 teams in 6 years - including a second stint with both cincy and cle - always thought he played more 3b than 2b - btw, he was from the cincy area - hamilton? franklin?

There another name that escapes me, that went to the Reds and play 2nd base that blew up, and I think he came up with us also......

Out of the 3 sports we cover on here, this is the only one that continues at length general conversation in the game threads....you will find it a bit on the other 2, but not great length.

Not a big deal, but much of this should be in the general discussion.

That said, I love this sub section, it is active, informative and all the new people we added the last 2 years are awesome. Thank you for making this the best Indians forum on the net now.

But still funny how much we discuss non game specific in the game threads, lol

First off, Miller actually can play SS without too much of an issue. He doesn't have the range and whatnot as Gimenez but he makes very few actual errors. 2B or 3B is likely going to be his calling over SS or 1B, but he is a solid fielding player in general. If he was on the Reds, they would gladly play him at SS over anyone they currently have since he doesn't make many mistakes there. If he is put there, I am not scared about him playing the position, but like I said about Johnson, his best position is elsewhere and I want him at his best position if possible.

Miller will not be called up unless it's everyday ABs, so unless we cut Bauers or an injury to Hernandez or JRam we arent calling up Miller. Now if Chang continues to struggle, we might see Clement as the utility guy, but not Miller. He's an everyday player and won't be put on the roster until he has the chance for an everyday spot. I don't think we will see any change until the end of May...

I think Miller or Clement comes up tomorrow... Clement was pulled from todays game...

Clement was removed due to injury.
Per the Columbus radio announcers later in the game, Ernie suffered some sort of leg injury between 2nd & 3rd base while legging out a triple.
Eventually he scored and was then replaced before taking field again defensively.

Ignore my other post lol.

Thanks MT.

Re: Miller yeah I'm just saying he seems to be overhyped. Before it was Miller it was probably more Jones than Miller but then he had a rough start. Miller seems like a hand-eye coordination talent who smacks a lot of line drives but low on power, primarily a singles/doubles hitter that has potential to hit for a decently high average. Outcome wise something similar to Cesar Hernandez. When he's ready of course... Would I like that in the lineup now at a middle infield position? I get that some people want to say he's ready because of some hit tool or that he's hitting well over 8 games but I just don't get the purpose. Stability should be prioritized over modest improvements at best.
