Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, because god forbid people get caught up in the moment! But sure, let's attack folks who don't share the same opinions as you just because they don't agree with you! That creates an inclusive culture.
Nobody is attacking you--just discussing your take.

The reasoning is not because you "don't share the same opinions" as us. The reasoning is because it's an awful, reactionary take. In fact, it sounds like you agree with us because you label it as being "caught up in the moment."

So, would you agree that we don't:
  1. Have a shit team?
  2. Are seeing shit results?
My goal is not to be inclusive of everything. To give an extreme example, if someone comes in and calls for Francona to be executed, that isn't a take I would want to include, and isn't something we as a collective should strive to include.

To apply it to your post, I welcome you as a poster, but if you post reactionary takes that have no basis in reality and are akin to flinging your own poo on the walls of this forum, you should expect to get push back. You should be able to either defend your stance, or change your mind. Attacking the people who respond to you, like you're doing now, is not constructive.

No, I don't think that's being over-dramatic at all. Especially when you've been doing this for so long you've literally created the hate-inspired nicknames like Austerity Dolan and other 10/10 nicknames because of how often you're repeating the same negativity.

I don't really care about every single fan, but I do care about having a community here where we don't have to wade through incessant posts from over-dramatic, reactionary people who just want to cry about a team that consistently hate but refuse to stop ranting about.

Its the same cycle, and we'd all like it to end, which is what we're asking of those who do it.

And they know who they are.
Um, what are you even talking about? I legit have no idea who Austerity Dolan is? Clearly you think I'm someone I'm not... I legit came over here at the invite of a former IBI poster, totally forgot about this place for a while, and came back to give it a try. So... your hostility towards me is very unwarranted because I have never been on this site as another user... ever. So thanks again for being welcoming!

I agree that we all get too caught up in the moment sometimes. I also think we should all strive to do that a little less, no?

If you had come in here and said "Yup, got caught up in the moment. The team looks good right now. I hope they keep it up. Might need to make a move or two." I'll bet this would all be over right now.

Yeah, it was an awful take at the time, that's on me. At the same time, bringing it up weeks later accomplishes what? Nothing?

To answer your questions... no, we don't have a shit team. Certainly aren't seeing shit results. Where I would differ from you and some others is I certainly think we'll fall back down to average a little bit. Now, by average, I certainly don't mean sitting in the cellar. I fully expect this team to win at least 80 games and I could even see as high as 86-87. Who would have thought the Twins would be as bad as they are to start the year? So there's room to really beat up on those in our own division. The one thing that I think can hold this team back from being better is how it was constructed offensively.

Ideally, it results in less of those awful takes as we all move forward as a group. That makes a more constructive board with higher quality standards that we can all enjoy.

When people show me the err of my ways, it makes me consider my actions next time a similar situation comes about.

In what world do you see me arguing the opposite? I'm a bit confused why you're making this assumption.

I think you're still a little low on the win total, but I agree with everything else in this post.

Gravedigging posts is rarely constructive. Reactionary posts should be called out in the moment.

To your last part, poor assumption on my part and I think that was more geared as a general community assumption than you specifically, but my apologies for being less clear on that and making that assumption.

Let's talk at least good stuff I see, shall we? Since we've focused on a lot of the negative...

The starting rotation has been just about as good that you could have possibly asked for. Biebs will be in the Cy Young conversation again, no doubt. Plesac has looked much, much better since his two outings with the White Sox and has settled in as a really solid 2. Civale has been better than advertised. McKenzie has had his ups and downs. I somewhat still wonder about his frame going forward, but for as young as he is, you really, really can't complain at all. The 5th spot is still up for grabs.. and that's okay. We've gotten by pretty well.

Bullpen has been another solid year so far. Karinchak is one of the best relievers in the game. Clase has been solid minus a few hiccups last night, but that was his third straight night out, dude just ran out of gas. Shaw has been great. I really hope Sandlin is here to stay because I've been super impressed with him.

Jose is having a phenomenal start to the season and is the MVP discussion. I like Rosario as a utility guy going forward. If we accept him as that role, I don't think we'd really be too disappointed with that.

I see the mistake here, my bad.

Your quote was "shit team shit payroll shit results," not giving Paul Dolan a stupid nickname.

I want whatever happy, magical pills you're on if you're okay with those kind of results.
Create a shit team with a shit payroll and get shit results.

My bad on the mix up, but obviously, you get the point.

There is no welcoming committee here, but you're not entitled to one either. But at least practice what you preach if you're going to complain about people being sick of the shit takes as this team takes over a share of first place.

100% agree, and like I said, I own up to my terrible take in the moment. The one thing I'll say about my win total is it could hinge on two things... one being the White Sox and if they continue at the pace they are. I'm actually kind of surprised given how bad they've been hurt with injuries early on. But the other is the Twins... really thought they'd be better than they are. Do they continue to stink or do they come back up to expectations?

Yeah, I definitely was not calling Dolan a name or anything like that. I'm critical of the payroll this year, surely. But I'd still argue Dolan has kept a steady hand on this franchise and deserves credit for bringing Tito on board and guiding us to be one of the winningest teams in baseball over the last decade or so. I don't consider myself a Dolan hater because I'm of the opinion be careful what you wish for... and I think certainly been better than Dan Gilbert and Jimmy Haslam pre-Andrew Berry. Given the hit with Covid, cutting payroll was a no brainer, but being last in the league in spending... that I can't say I'm impressed with, but here we are and the team is achieving success.

Posting troll takes in the game threads is only a couple of regular guys, though I do overreact in the moment at times. "letting off steam" - and should be taken with a grain of salt..

Nothing is set in stone, especially in the game threads after a 2nd no hitter in under a month.

Digging up week old posts on a game thread to prove a point or whatever is lame. Keep that to the main threads.

Some posters either can't comprehend/notice or choose to ignore sarcasm, bluster etc.

Some posters just talk shit.. And some posters will feed the trolls, even digging up stupid pointless old hot takes to keep the beast alive.

The last thing I’ll say is I still agree, mg take was terrible and should have been better in the heat of the moment, it’s hardly as if I’m doing that on a regular basis or being super negative every post I make. I made a mistake.

I said coming into the season, my biggest question for this team was how Civale and Plesac pitch. Are they going to become second and third starters, or are they more BOR guys? They've certainly pitched well and seem to be FOR/MOR guys, which is awesome.

The bullpen has been great. Wittren has been uncomfortable, as I expected. But Shaw has been so good, and we haven't been burnt by Karinchak at all. It won't last forever--Karinchak will have some implosion innings with bad control--but I'll ride the hot streak as long as it lasts.

The one thing I’ll say about Karinchak is I really hope MLB doesn’t really crack down on substances because he’s so obvious when he does it. It’s in his glove. I mean, hey, he’s pitched like a man possessed so I’ll ride that!

@AZ_ @Out of the Rafters at the Q @Derek @33Y0

I'd like to chime in here...

I know a number of people that moved over here to RCF to discuss baseball from the old IBI boards changed their name..
Some (like myself) used the same name so others had a better idea/ understanding who they were speaking to.
33YO is one of those that changed his moniker.
That said he was not Reno or one of the problems at the old location. He was someone with opinions & at times behind the scenes insights that helped the board understand different items. He was able to make that board a better place..

Hopefully once play begins again in Mahoning Valley, he will again become a back-channel pipeline of info for everyone.
