Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@AZ_ @Out of the Rafters at the Q @Derek @33Y0

I'd like to chime in here...

I know a number of people that moved over here to RCF to discuss baseball from the old IBI boards changed their name..
Some (like myself) used the same name so others had a better idea/ understanding who they were speaking to.
33YO is one of those that changed his moniker.
That said he was not Reno or one of the problems at the old location. He was someone with opinions & at times behind the scenes insights that helped the board understand different items. He was able to make that board a better place..

Hopefully once play begins again in Mahoning Valley, he will again become a back-channel pipeline of info for everyone.
I genuinely don't care about anyone's history.

You can be the worst poster in the history of online forums, but if you come in with a constructive post, more power to you.

Thanks MT. Much appreciated brother.

I actually dove into season tickets for Mahoning Valley this year. I’m rather excited for a different brand of baseball. Nothing against when they were affiliated with us because a lot of great talent came through that place, BUT the last few years, a lot of teams, including the Indians, changed their model for who they sent to short season ball and often times were using their Arizona league for top talent.

The new league hopefully will showcase a lot of talent for the draft and can definitely follow these guys across the teams they’re drafted to.

When I did an article on Kipnis and interviewed him down there, he’ll always be an instant favorite of mine. Nothing but class. Even after his time in MV and we crossed paths periodically, was still great. Naquin was a great dude too. I probably actually interacted with him the most of any player and last year, I found a throwback photo I had talking with him in MV and sent it his way and he loved it. One guy who I thought got a lot of crap from fans and the media was Chris Perez. He was never an MV guy obviously via trade, but hands down, had the best time interacting with him. I spent some time with him I believe it was his first year in Cleveland and at the time, I was rocking hair like he was and he loved it. I met his wife who was also really nice and after the season, he ended up giving me his one necklace he always wore during the games. Always answered every question I had with kindness.

Reno would be in his glory watching Billy Hamilton succeeding as a Chisox injury fill-in outfielder.

Lord, I don’t know Reno’s history over here, and I don’t mean to talk ill about others, but when he was at IBI, he was insufferable. I was a mod over at IBI for a few years and I can’t tell you how many times I banned the guy. I gave up my mod duties a little before they switched companies, but man. Reno drove me nuts….

Please don't mention the "R" word. He might sense that he's being talked about and come back. Reminds me of that scene in Lord of the Rings where the hobbit puts on the ring of power and hundreds of miles away the evil eye pops open.

If anyone’s into Harry Potter… you have to treat him like the cast of HP did by not saying Voldemort’s name lol

This is a really good point. RCF's mods/Admins, and myself as an individual, only judge people by what they post here. There may have been a lot of shitty history somewhere else, but our view is that everyone who comes here gets a fresh start. If they really are a bad apple, then the spots will show sooner or later. Sometimes some bad chemistry develops in a place, and a change in scenery can make people get along better.

We also try to be responsible to PM's from you guys if someone believes that either a poster or particular discussion is getting out of hand, and we will usually try to step in to prevent things from getting crappy.

As far as I can tell, the only poster here named "Reno" was banned in 2009, so I assume that if he's here, it's under a different name. I'd rather not know who he is because if he's here and posting, then he hasn't done anything to warrant a ban, and that's all to the good.

To be specific, I don't just mean your history on other websites. I don't even care about your history here. Triplethreat sneaks back and has quality posts? Awesome. Pyro wants to get in on the Indians with some insight that helps build discussion? Go for it.

Since it's a late game tonight I decided to take a look around the league. I can't believe the Dodgers are 20-17 despite being fifth in the majors in both runs per game and ERA. Didn't everybody pick them to go something like 120-42 this year? However, they're 10-5 at home and 10-12 on the road so they've played seven more road games.

As bad as Lindor is hitting the Mets are in first place in a weak division.

For a while it looked like some historically bad teams were going to be all right. The Pirates started out 12-12 but have since gone 3-10. The Royals started even hotter, going 16-9 before losing their last 11 games. Their next four games are at the White Sox. Could be a 15-game losing streak by the end of the weekend. (But they're leading the Sox 5-2 in the sixth inning of a 7-inning game. Second game to follow tonight).

The Twins have the worst record in the majors. NOBODY saw that coming. Eddie Rosario must be pretty happy he switched teams.

The Yankees are 20-17 and in third place, just like the Dodgers. The league's two biggest payrolls wallowing in mediocrity. It's still early, though.

The top four teams in the A.L. East are within three games of each other and it's Tampa that's in fourth place. That division is shaping up to be a dogfight. Even the O's are no longer an easy win at 16-21.

And yet the ageless Nelson Cruz continues to rake with 9 HRs, 22 RBIs, and .900 OPS.

Did you not read my whole post where I literally said "you can only beat the teams you have on your schedule"? Literally said that myself.

Yeah, most teams are average right now, but you still have the Red Sox 23-16 (.590), White Sox 22-13 (.629), A's 23-15 (.590), Astros 21-17 (.553), Cardinals 23-15 (.605), Giants 23-14 (.622)... I mean, there's still really good teams out there. This is a great run, absolutely. No discounting that. We'll be in the hunt for the playoffs, absolutely. But again.. there's a lot of holes on this team.

There are alot of holes, but there is alot of right too.

The issue with "beating only the mediocre teams" is that its so early in the season. maybe some of the teams are medicore right now because we beat them. 3 or 4 wins against a team right now turns them from good to average because its such a small percentage

And for all our holes we have one of the best rotations and the best bullpen. Hitting is horrible and defense is bad, but if you are going to be good at one thing, be good at pitching.

FYI, since you just popped up. Lots of good posters here some like AZ are very knowledgeable but he can rub people the wrong way but knows his stuff. The one that is over the tops is BimboColesHair....he works for the Indians and his knowledge is incredible. He is clear on when its facts because he witnessed or knows and his opinion, but just know he is really legit insider, and its been proven by the staff.

This place has a bit of insider on all 3 sports, but Cavs and some Indians are the main ones.

Will a winning streak do it?

Winning cures everything. They’ve squeaked out some low scoring, close wins their past three games. Hell, we came within a couple innings of seeing our first no hitter since Len Barker last night!

Happy to be called out on my emotional shitposting from last week. At the end of the day, I’m just a dumb fan that wants to see my team do well and finally break their World Series drought. Sometimes I lose sight of the fact that the Indians have been by far the most well-run Cleveland sports franchise in the past 25 years (mainly thanks to alcohol :chuckle:).

people admit to being Cavs insiders?

people admit to being Cavs insiders?

Well the guy that used to run the place, Ben was one. He ended up getting full media access and got us great info all the time. A couple of people who used to come here were. one was a Cavs scout, but he retired, and the other was close friends to a former GM and had cavs floor seats and we have a few others that have their specialties.
