If you want to continue to contend for a playoff spot, you're going to need to trade for starting pitching. Continuing to roll with Logan Allen and Hentges will get you 76 wins.No thanks on acquiring starting pitching. Continue to roll with TMac, Quantrill, Mejia, Logan Allen, and Hentges through the end of the year. Keep 2 (or I guess 3 until Plesac returns) in the rotation for a month while the others are in the rotation in Columbus. if 1 or more fail, replace with the ones at Columbus. We have Morgan, Moss, and Kirk the 5'8" to sprinkle in if it comes down to it.
All are young and inexperienced. You need to know what you have, as with Bradley, Miller, and the young position players. If it doesn't work this year, that's too bad. But stopgaps and bandaids completely miss the purpose of this transitional season in the first place. We are competing for nothing with or without the Ben Gamels, Jake BauerS, and Jon Grays of the world. It's just the facts. And I'm OK with them. You don't offload Kluber, Bauer, Clevinger, Carrasco, and Lindor in what 24 months and then start panic buying bandaids because you are 1-2 games out of the 2nd wild card.
Starting to become civaleBiebs is our ace right?
We do not have the positional talent to win in the playoffs even with another sp. He’s been extremely unlucky this year. His babip is only .240 while almost all of his advanced stats are the best of his career. For example, his barrel % of 8.8% is more than double his career high and his xwOBA is .346 which is the highest of his career.Cesar has been a huge disappointment this year
blah blah babip blah blah fip blah blah. I get all the stupid advanced stats but at some point it comes down to raw #'s and he's not producing. Let's not even get into the boneheaded defensive and baserunning mistakes. And I say this as a big fan of Hernandez but it is what it is.He’s been extremely unlucky this year. The best way to produce is to consistently hit the ball hard, which he is doing at the best rate of his career.blah blah babip blah blah fip blah blah.
