See my previous comment about Vladdy..

Here comes the stupid coat thing...

Eli's slider is not a ML pitch...

Deep breath Eli. It is Vlad Jr.

I do believe at least one of these guys will take this years learning experience and turn a big corner into a big time start next year. I just don't know which one it will be out of Morgan, Meija, Sticks, Quantrill,.

Not saying some of the others might not improve, just saying I think only one of them will take a big time leap into Civale/Plesac territory next year, if not slightly higher.

Eli cruises through the third inning.. surrendering a seeing eye four hopper to Amed at SS that he had ZERO chance getting to Owen @ 1B for the out.. Vladdy Daddy squibs one to Clement for the third out.... It looked like Vladdy really (I mean REALLY) saw the Eli FB that he took.. he won't take the next one.. something that Eli/Carl/DeMarlo know or need to..

Nice to see that Eli was able to limit the damage to the seeing eye single up the middle by Springer and the laser shot by Vladdy to the left field cheap seats and a squeezed walk & nasty FB for a strike out later in the inning for a 2-2 tie going to the top of the 7th inning.. very nice indeed..

Also.. nice idea about bringing Karinchak in earlier in the game.. away from the high leverage innings.. perhaps this will give him a chance to settle into a better role.. It's clear Clase' is taking on the role of closer and doing so effectively..

same old Cimber.. meatball in the middle of the plate for an easy double for Straw..

Eli with the quality start. Nice to see, even though the BP is toast at this point. Between he and Quantrill, and a lesser extent Tristen, these guys are progressing. I agree, one or two of them will be ready for the rotation next year to give us #4 and #5 starts.

It looks like maybe Sandlin is moving into the back end of the pen.

Nice 6-4-3 to end the eighth.

Then Miller refuses to chase a 3-2 pitch and works a leadoff walk.
