2021 Series #33 | Indians @ Blue Jays | Aug. 2-5

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I figured Morgan would end up being way better than peeps thought... Now he needs to find another pitch to be a legit MLB starter, fastball-changeup combo, is legit but his slider and curveball(I believe is his fourth pitch) haven't been any good... At the current moment he is a long reliever/spot starter like Tomlin was for us. He can pitch and eat innings, but without that third pitch (needs another one to face righties) he won't be anything but that. I hope he finds it!

It didn't take long to take the lead....and a lot more.

Its amazing what happens when pitchers throw strikes and position players play sound defense.

Myles could be the Straw that stirs the drink in the next couple years as a Gold Glover , base stealer and leadoff hitter . A right handed Brett Butler. At age 26 just entering his prime . Rosario can now be moved to second base next year if Gimenez is ready

Seems like he could be one of those low key moves the Tribe really excels at.

Morgans change up comes as advertised.

Whether he can develop a workable third pitch will be the deciding factor in his future success.

Eli pitched extremely well and his CU is Bugs Bunny like, but you guys are right. He needs to develop a 3rd pitch or he's a guy that will get battered the 3rd time through. Kids got some guts for sure, but he's a BOR SP at best IMO. Guys like Hentges and Mejia could learn a lot from Eli.

How has he ended up being "way better than peeps thought"? Everyone here pretty much thought of him as a BOR SP/Tomlin type and that's exactly what he appears to be.

Without a 3rd pitch he won't eat many innings either. The 3rd time through a good lineup might be his bugaboo even if he develops a useful 3rd pitch. There's nothing wrong with being a good BOR SP. Every team in MLB needs one.

If Eli somehow had 2 distinct fastballs and a ML quality breaking pitch he could be a force, a quality MOR or MORe. If he can somehow add that useable breaking pitch to his arsenal at this stage of his career that would be fantastic. I expect his offseason will be all about finding that pitch. Hope he finds it.

Actually most people were ready to cut him before the season started/thought he wouldnt be able to do anything in the pros. Go look at what people stated...

I was one of the people who said he isn't ever going to be a ML SP.. so far.. I am being proven wrong.. but.. it's only a half dozen or so starts.. we'll see when he's going through the division the second and third time..
