Here are the on/off numbers when the front line consists of some combination of Allen, Mobley, Wade, Osman and Love (24 or more possessions).
+24.5
+25.8
-7.1
-17.9
+73.1
-12.0
+41.8
+51.5
The two lineups in the negative have Mitchell and Okoro (-7.1) and Garland and Okoro (-17.9) as the other two players. Basically, any combination of Allen, Mobley, Wade, Osman, and Love on the front line is very successful as long as Okoro is not on the floor. In both negative lineups Osman was the 3, so you can't put Cedi and Isaac on the floor together.
Lineups with LeVert at the 3 have these on/off numbers:
-4.3 (212 possessions - this has been the most used lineup by far)
-16.2
-12.5
When LeVert is at the 2, the Cavs outscore their opponents by 10.2 points per 100 possessions, which is in the 85th percentile. When Caris plays the 3 the Cavs are outscored by 3.4 points. So the Cavs are 13.6 points better when Caris is the shooting guard as opposed to the small forward.
The numbers clearly indicate that playing LeVert at the 3 is not working out. It's not his natural position and it leaves us short of size and rebounding. It's unfair to LeVert and to the team to continue playing him out of position.
