With Allen still out tonight, I'm assuming we will see Diakite back in the starting lineup with Wade at the SF spot. What will be interesting is what the lineup looks like once Allen is back. Let's hope Diakite gives JB something to really have to consider with more stellar play tonight.
That lineup worked. We obviously give up interior defense with Allen being out, but Diakite brings size and mobility. And with his ability to score if left alone on the perimeter, it gives us more shooting which gives everyone else more room. Obviously we are better with Allen, but this lineup is better together than the individual names would make you think it would be.

I was looking at the projected salary cap jumps and my goodness, we are going to have plenty of cap space left even after the big 4 are locked up. Enough for a big 5 if an appropriate wing becomes available. Cam Johnson?

Spotrac.com has the Cavs with $125 M in salary commitments next year with a projected cap of $134 million. The tax level is $162M.

That $125 M is for nine players, which would only give them $9 M to replace Love, LeVert, Windler, Lopez, and Diakite.

The Cavs are 14-8 despite playing the 3rd toughest schedule and having to use 13 different starting lineups in 22 games. Among the teams that have played the five toughest schedules the Cavs are the only one with a winning record.

Not going to look it up, but do the cavs have the best home record?

Jimmy Butler is back and the Heat beat the Celtics in Boston in OT. Butler had 25 points and 15 rebounds. But the Heat only got 11 of 120 points from their bench. They pretty much went with an 8-man rotation. I'm not sure if they can maintain that for the rest of the season. Kyle Lowry is 36 and he played 39 minutes at point guard.

This part of the schedule is pretty important. We’re finally playing a string of losing teams. If we bear down now we could reel off a six or seven game winning streak and create some breathing room in the standings. Would help us rest people more later in the year and give us insurance against that inevitable losing streak during the dog days of midwinter

Bickerstaff tells the Cavs to protect Garland.

He’s been hit in the face a lot,” Bickerstaff said. “I think it’s our responsibility and all of our responsibility to make sure we’re protecting him. That’s us, that’s the people on the floor, that’s his teammates, we have a responsibility to protect all the guys. I do think there’s an emphasis from opponents to be physical.”

Sounds like a job for Robin Lopez.

That last part was interesting. It sounds like JBB is saying that opponents are deliberately taking shots at Garland. We do have something of a finesse team with guys like Allen and Mobley up front.

I am not saying play hockey, but someone might have to take a suspension to send a message. Wagner bros were taunting, and being extra physical last night. Grab one of them by the jersey and just start letting people know we're here to be physical as well.

Naw they’re young and likeable. Toughness will come

Is there any reason robin Lopez should have a job over Dwight Howard? Is he that much of a good room guy? I feel like Dwight even at his old washed stage could still dunk and block some shots. Which is a lot more than robin can do.
