I'm not as concerned with the bench as some. I'm assuming we can keep Okoro pretty cheaply after his rookie contract expires (I know he's not bench but he's not one of the core 4). Wade is still inexpensive and we have him for 3 more years if we want him. If we want Stevens, he will also come cheap. (btw - I don't see why we need Wade, Okoro & Stevens - Stevens is redundant to both of them in some ways). Cedi can be replaced or resigned for about what he makes now. I'm guessing we let Winder go or trade him. We will probably have to pay LeVert a little more than he is making now, but not a ton more. All of these guys are relatively young and there is a very good chance with Okoro, Wade & Stevens that they will actually improve over the next few years (Wade & Stevens are older but neither with a ton of NBA minutes). I Think Rubio's contract was a mistake, but its not a very large one. I think we have a lot of very tradable contracts and a few guys who we will want to keep as contributors. I think we badly need a young big to back up Allen, but other than that, its mainly about finding guys who fit and fill needs. And scoring is not going to be as big of a problem in another year or two - DG is still improving. Mobley is ascending rapidly. DM is going to get buckets. These are 3 20+ a night guys. LeVert will get his. Allen will get his. There are not a lot of shots left for the rest of the team.Yes and no. We might be screwed in getting productive bench players in the future if we don’t address it next offseason or the year after...but the new CBA makes it much easier to keep our core of Mobley, Garland, Mitchell and Allen together if we wanted to, and makes it easier for us to keep Mitchell in free agency, as we can pay him significantly more than any other team.
