So the Knicks are locked into the 5th seed, and the Cavs vs Knicks playoff series will start on Saturday April 15th or Sunday April 16th.
Love it - 10 days to prepare for the Knicks. Of course with the Knicks locked into fifth they have the same time to prepare for us. The big question is whether Julius Randle will play and if he does whether he will be 100%.

What concerns me is the Knicks are 23-16 on the road, which is slightly better than their home record of 23-17. They are the only EC playoff team that is better on the road. The Cavs are 19-21 on the road.

The biggest Cavs' advantage IMO is that our star player is healthy and peaking right now with four straight games over 40 points while their best player may not even play or he could be less than 100%.

This is what folks have been saying all year - we need a better starting 3 than Okoro and the bench is pretty light after LeVert.

As for next year, Fedor says it's likely LeVert will be back. So we'll probably have the same team. Any improvement has to be internal. I see three possibilities:

1. Mobley takes another step forward and becomes a 20/10 guy and DPOY candidate.

2. Rubio, with a full off-season, to train, returns as the same player he was in '21-'22 before he blew out his knee (not the 65% we're seeing now).

3. Wade or Okoro develops a consistent corner 3, giving us a solid 3-and-D at small forward.

Only the first of these is really realistic IMO. Mobleys improvement is in fact likely, but not sure it will be enough. The Garland- Mitchell duo have to improve as well.

John Michael is not the worst, but I don’t like how he calls the games like it’s radio and think every detail needs to be explained and you have to spend every second explaining what’s going on? He’s good at that, but doesn’t make the best listen for TV

Looking at the Cavs' five-man lineups, their most used lineup by far (DG, DM, Okoro, Mobley, Allen) has outscored opponents by 7.8 points per 100 possessions, which is good - in the 65th percentile league wide. That's based on 800 possessions.

The second most used lineup (456 possessions) is the same lineup as above except with LeVert at small forward in place of Okoro. That lineup is a +16.2 - more than twice as much as the most used lineup, putting it in the 86th percentile. Even if Okoro is healthy for the playoffs the Cavs should use LeVert as much as possible.

The most used lineup that includes Dean Wade (Mitchell, LeVert, Wade, Mobley, Allen) is an astronomical +23.6 in 96 possessions, or about one full game. That number puts this unit in the 94th percentile.

Last night's starting lineup of DG, DM, Wade, Mobley, and Allen is +20.7 in 82 possessions.

I don't see any more lineups involving Wade that could possibly be on the court against the Knicks. Overall the Cavs are +2.4 in Wade's 804 possessions, but removing the possessions where he was on the floor with guys like Love and Diakite who will not be playing against the Knicks, Wade is about a +22 in the two lineups were he is most likely to be used. That covers 178 possessions.

Based on these numbers I strongly feel the Cavs show go with Wade at the 3 against the Knicks. He is an excellent defender who can match up against Barrett and Randle. The Knicks are the best offensive rebounding team in the Association and we need more bulk on the front line.

. . . and pray to the basketball gods that his 3 point shot returns

He's awful to listen to.

New York signed a big time free agent in Brunson to a 104M contract.

Must be nice to be a destination city. Cleveland has to earn its way to the top.

Leon Rose was Brunson's dad agent and they were good friend for basically all of Brunson's life. It's basically why the Mavs knew they had very little chance to keep Brunson. I think the city of New York had very little to do with him going to the Knicks and Leon Rose being the president of the Knicks was the main driver in getting him there.

Starting lineup next game vs Orlando

PG: Neto
SG: Green
SF: Stevens
PF: Wade
C I.Mobley

Cavs by 12, it’s Isiah Mobley show now
Would have been a great opportunity for Windler to get to play some NBA minutes, but alas... he's on a walking boot again?

Would like to see Green play... at all.... but I guess he's a made man.

One of the Cavs from yesterday's game gets one of the NBA highlights of the night!

My concern is how the Cavs come out of the gate.
Will they be fired up to handle and contasin the Knicks or will they try to be a counter puncher?
