On top of that if reports are true he already turn down a extension, sell high maybe ?…….And I do love the pitching factory coming up…..But with that said I would see if I can sell high on Pleasac first, and then maybe Civale if he gets on a good streak …..
Plesac and Civale aren't FA until the year after Bieber. You'd be selling low on both right now too. I'd deal Bieber first if the return is sufficient.

If I could get Bieber on a team friendly deal, I would like to keep him TBH, main reason when the young pups start coming up , I would love that veteran pitcher like Kluber was to Bieber etc etc…..Plesac I would pull the trigger if we get a okay offer ASAP just something about him I just don’t like, I get with Civale your right we would be selling low, that why I said if he got on a hot streak…..Could you imagine pitching staff of Bieber, Tmac, CQ, Williams, Espino…..I could see that by mid year next year, assuming everyone is healthy…..

You guys can rip my ass all you want because you're probably not going to like what I think should happen, but here it goes. Bieber is pitching well and clearly he doesn't need 94 to be a damn good SP. Combine that with TMac looking like the staff ace and a truck load of SP prospects getting ever closer to Cleveland, I'm dealing Bieber by the break if(emphases on if) a team is willing to give a haul for him. I'm calling the Dodgers and asking them if they would like Bieber for Miller, Pages, and Cartaya. Yes, it likely lessens our chance to make the playoffs this season, but it could potentially put us over the top starting next season. Miller is a stud that you could lump right in with Espino and Williams. Yeah, I'm willing to take a hit this season to build a damn juggernaut.

If we arent in contention at the trade deadline, we at least have to listen to offers, though I do not want Pages, otherwise the deal makes a ton of sense.

Tough to sell high on Plesac at the moment.

What's wrong with Andy Pages?.. He is a prototypical RF/Center Fielder with gun, great baseball IQ and instincts, hits for both power and average.. takes walks and limits K's/thrown away AB's.. He's also just 21 years old and has mashed everywhere he's gone..

Bobby Miller.. stud..
Diego Cartaya.. stud..
Andy Pages.. stud..

For Bieber.. is a deal that, if offered, should be made..

I’d prefer a rotation of Espino, Williams, Miller, Bibee and TMac. That’s just ridiculous to even contemplate. Hankins will have to be in the mix by 2024.

Daniel Johnson gone.
Per PD/Cleveland.com, cash considerations received for Johnson totaled $1.
(One Dollar)

The Guardians traded outfielder Daniel Johnson to the Mets on Wednesday for cash considerations. It’s safe to say they aren’t going to be able to splurge on a free agent because of those considerations.
They received $1 from the Mets for Johnson, who ran out of playing time at Class AAA Columbus when Will Brennan was promoted from Class AA Akron.

I just have a hunch Pages will be a bust/won't end up as good as projected. He doesn't have as good of a contact rate as I would like... Vargas has a sure bet bat in my opinion, but doesn't really have the defensive skill. Why I would rather get Vargas plus another prospect over just Pages...

We all have our preferences. My point is that sooner may be better than later…….maybe.

I agree with this sentiment. Bieber has made his intent pretty clear. He wants the money free agency will give him. In return, the Guardians could/would get a haul. The guy is one year removed from being a triple crown Cy Yong winner.

The tribe rotation? Cantillo's numbers this season are plain out and out sick. Williams is Williams and Espino is Espino. Let's not forget about Cody Morris and what he was last season before he went down to injury either.

Mackenzie, if he can stay healthy could be a CY candidate Quantril has been absolutely fantastic since he came here.

Upper management should be targeting 2024 as the year to go after it.

The Dodgers have the lowest team ERA in baseball by a wide margin. Why would they trade for more pitching?

Their starters:

Buehler 2.91 ERA
Urias 2.49
Gonsolin 1.80
Anderson 3.30
Kershaw 1.80
Heaney 0.00 (2 starts, 10.1 innings, 16 K's)

They also lead the majors in runs per game by a huge margin. I don't see why they'd trade at all, unless they have some quality prospects that are totally blocked and they will lose in Rule 5 in a year or two.

The Guardians told Jose they couldn't afford him but he wanted to stay so he signed anyway for below market value. It doesn't look like Bieber has the same attitude. He'll need to be traded, the only question is when. Might as well be now when his value is higher than it will ever be. That would mitigate the risk of another arm injury.

We traded Kluber and Clevinger in the nick of time before they got seriously hurt. Bieber is a lot younger but why take chances if it's just a matter of time before he's traded and we're not going to the World Series this year?

Just noticed that J.P. Feyereisen, one of the minor leaguers we included in the Andrew Miller trade in 2016, is lighting it up in Tampa. Now 29 years old, Feyereisen has pitched 22 innings out of the Rays' bullpen, allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, 0 runs, with 25 K's.

The Yankees traded him to the Brewers where he made his major league debut in 2020. It took him until age 27 but he made it to the Show. A year ago the Brewers traded him to the Rays.

It took him six years after being traded by the Indians but he's finally thriving at the major league level. Too bad we couldn't have held onto him, but he probably would have run out of options at some point.

From The Athletic:

SO BEWARE OF THOSE FIRST 40 GAMES — Remember that old adage that you don’t jump to conclusions about your team until you’ve played 40 games? Front offices we spoke with say they’ve pushed that number upward this year. Guess why.

“We’re looking at trends in really small samples,” said one of the execs quoted earlier, “and trying to figure out which is the real version of our own players. How good are we? Plus, you also have a situation with the shortened spring that involved free agency and trades occurring at a rate that we’ve never really seen in spring.

“Usually, there’s one player every spring who signs late and has to rush to get ready for the season. This year there are dozens. There are so many players in new places who are still trying to adapt to their environment … that I think we have to make more allowances for people getting used to a new schedule, a new environment, a new hitting background, new coaching staffs and new routines. Those things really matter.”
