That's why I suggested he might be the next to be DFA'd after Reyes, Call, Mercado, Zimmer, etc.

He can't compete with Rosario, Gimenez, Freeman, Arias, and others at 2B/SS. His bat doesn't play as a corner infielder. He doesn't hit for average or power and he doesn't walk. His glove doesn't play at 1B. What is his role on this team going forward?
I think his role is "He showed a solid bat in the minors, and had a flash at the major league level. Let's allow him to keep swinging for now because he could be a plus utility guy. At the worst, he's doing the little things to help win like hitting sac flies"

I'm not sure I agree with all of that, but I'm guessing that's the stance.

There is a 0% chance he gets DFA'd before Clement.

Less than a 0% chance. I will leave this board if that happens.

It's not happening. Not with him being only 25 with 2 options remaining and the ability to play multiple postions.

In a year we’ve gone from me being berated as a pessimist for saying I’d be happy if Owen Miller had a Mark Loretta-type career at the plate to a few people calling for him to be DFA.

I don’t see any issue with giving someone else a crack at Owen’s at bats right now, but I’m nowhere near ready to cut ties with him.

Young guys rarely hit the ground running in the majors.

Wait, are you saying that everyone who claimed Owen Miller was going to be the savior due to some productive AB's in the minor leagues, and that the organization was spitting in the faces of all its fans by not bringing him up sooner may have been slightly overreacting? :chuckle:

I actually wouldn't even mind switching Clement and Miller right now in a sense because we have Jones, Benson and Freeman up. Let Miller get the AAA ABs to work on his problems and get Benson the 1B starts, and Freeman the 2B/SS/3B DH rotation ABs... aka Clement becomes the end of the bench, guy with likely no starts for awhile, but the guy who pinch runs and other stuff like that. I think we have too many guys up right now that won't get the ABs I would like them too. Clement won't really improve much more, so have him do the very few ABs role...

Fwiw, saw a facebook press release by the Guardians stating they optioned Mustard down to High A Lake County. It seems she hasn’t won a race in months.

Who is gonna take his place? And Cleveland isn't allowing any slacking from anyone are they? Lol

Anything on that kid Alex Call?

Very cutthroat approach this year by the front office. I suspect Sourkraut will be up for promotion. Her numbers at the minor league level for initial burst, finishing, and form are top notch

Haven't been able to sleep much without knowing why Franmil was given an assignment. Maybe it was the sauerkraut balls
