2022 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’ve never liked the idea of 12 teams. Not only is it too many, in my opinion, but it requires byes which I HATE. This isn’t the NFL, every single game matters in college football for a team trying to contend. Giving the top 4 programs an additional advantage of rest will probably lock out any underdog from actually winning. The Bamas and Ohio States already have all the best recruits and deepest pockets, now they get an extra advantage at the end of the season for their reputation, it’s definitely worse for the sport.

4 is better than 12. 8 makes the most sense. And if you need more, my idea:

10 teams
6 top conference champs
4 at large play-in (to make up for missing/losing conference title game)

Anyway I’m sure after a couple seasons I’ll be used to it but for the indefinite future the playoff debate will continue.

How many conferences will get ride of confrencr championships now? I don’t see the point of this game anymore. Give your top 2 teams the chance to make the playoffs. Get ride of divisions and let the conference champion be the hugest ranked.

As long as they are profitable, they’ll continue.

And if byes are a thing, some of them will be important for seeding.

Yeah. Seeding is going to be the new "drama" instead of who gets in.

Who gets the bye? Who gets to host a game? Etc.

Also, hell of a win by IU @MediumBaller

And condolences about Purdue @Lee

I’m also an undergraduate alumnus of Indiana University. What is your problem?

And fuck condolences, Purdue blew that shit like it was nobody’s business. I wanted nothing more than to see James bald fuck Franklin open his season with a loss to a team that’ll probably finish outside of the AP top 25 but no; Purdue was like ok challenge accepted.

FOOTBALL IS BACK BAYBAY.

There are benefits to expansion, but this is a downgrade. Did you see the big upset last night? Their bye week is OVER.

Was unaware you were an IU grad. I will update my database.

At halftime, Iowa averaging 2.7 ypa passing and 1.1 ypc.

Make sure to put me in as an OSU grad.

It actually would be cool to make a thread where we keep track of everybody's alumni and CFB allegiance. I just assume that pretty much everybody in this section is a Buckeyes fan which I know isn't true.
