I've seen some mocks that have him in the second half of the first round.. but, it only takes on GM to fall in love with a guy.. he's a good player with filled tool box... but not a $ 4 MM man.. and not anything that says: WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS GUY... Perhaps, as a "buy low" selection to save signing budget money for a more difficult signing later in the draft?.. imho, it wouldn't be how I'd use that scarce resource..

This is where the conversation begins for Oregon State lefty Cooper Hjerpe but there’s too much prep talent left on the board for Cleveland to pull the trigger there. Williams is in play, but the Guardians spent a good bit of time at Young’s games this spring and seem pretty bought in on the player. Have also heard ECU lefty Carson Whisenhunt mentioned here.

From what I am seeing though, this class has too many good hitters to skip on one with pick 16, so I would be hard pressed for 16 not to be a position player...

I think that goes with the normal territory. Guardians have a tendency to go under slot with the first pick and overslot with their second in a normal draft. I don't think DeLauter would be an under slot, if anything he may be an overslot early...
